Work great on my car. It's far from a daily, but I drive it to and from the track at night and the output is good. Don't miss my high beams either. I did add HIDs though.

Here's some eye candy for anyone on the fence. Used some cheap $10 halos from amazon as DRLs, another set of slightly larger yellow halos for turn signals, and the Hella projectors. The halos are attached with clear rtv to the headlight, it's simple and works. Thanks for the writeup!

LOL. Was so hyped on the pretty pictures I got I forgot

Here's the white halo.

I tried the LED strips for turn sugnals, but the look wasn't what I was going for. I ordered these rings in 80mm yellow but they're shipping from the moon and haven't arrived, so I haven't fit them yet.

They are just tinted lenses from the $40 amazon signals. I had to use more clear RTV to hold the lenses to the bumper since you can't screw them down without the housing attached to them. I need to paint it black behind them though.

Also, the white rings are absurdly bright, like -would be painful if they weren't behind the tint. I would have used clear lenses, but I already had the tinted ones on hand. I'm getting more than the stock light output with the 55w HIDs through the tint, so I'm not worried.

Cool. Ordered. I like the tinted lenses, but I could probably use a bit more light on long trips. Going to do some driving without the lenses and see how it looks.

Rad. Post it up. it's be nice to have a good looking solution with clear lenses. I'm just using the tinted lens to cover up all the behind the bumper crap. I'll update back once I have the new turn signal rings installed. Morimoto sells a nice switchback halo in the right size, but it's $50+. I'd rather just have separate rings for the DRL and signal and spend less than half.

Default Projector install

Bumping an old thread.. What type of relay is needed for the HELLA 998570001 60mm HB3?

Is the mounting better in front or behind as Aidan did? Just trying to figure out whether cutting is required or not. Thx

Having looked at both @Scaxx's and my setup I would mount in front like he did.

Thanks Aidan..I am now looking at the Hella Hb3 and singular brackets. Do you know if I need a special harness like this?
Amazon Amazon

Also, did you leave the smoked lens covers or went with clear? I was looking at the $43 set on Amazon of smoked turn signals as well.

Well his setup made me feel like a dumbass for cutting to fit mine...

FYI I tried running a set of LED rings outside of my DRL halos for turn signals as well, they work great if the DRL rings are off and the headlights are off. If any other lights are on they get washed out. I need to do a turn signal setup like Scaxx has.

I saw his projectors mounted on the outside of the frame. Is there enough space between the crash bar frame rail below, or trimming required ?

This kit should also work looking at dimensions. Slightly smaller than hella 60mm and includes good 35w hid kit. $130 for basic kit.
