Default COP conversion - how do you adjust timing?

I've read the threads with big interst and was already looking for some Toyota coils...

...then I started thinking... Is there still a way to check and adjust your timing on the early miatas?

My Timing light got an inductive pickup... how should I use this as there are no more ignition cables?

Keep the short plug wire. You can take off the rubber cap on the COP and stick the coil end of the wire onto the COP and then stick the other end into the head. Then just stick your inductive pickup onto that. I have done it, it works fine.
