Anyone know the thread size for the rear thermosensor for 90-93 (the one with the green connector)? Planning on a reroute and considering drilling and tapping the water plug site for the sensor, but could not find a definitive answer for the thread size for the tap. Thanks.

I am almost positive that it is the same sensor as on the 1.8. For the 1.8 it is a 12mm x 1.5 and you drill a 13/32 hole.

Close only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades. I want to be sure since I will be drilling into the head.

Part numbers slightly different. Maybe call a Mazda parts guy like Trussville and see if they are the same one.

I know, I am just lazy. Plus, there are conflicting answers on the other forum with some in metric sizes and some with standard sizes.

I'm pretty sure I placed the Green thermosensor in an existing port below the CAS, directly behind the barbed fitting in this picture:



Or I drilled and tapped a hole there, I can't really remember.

Just a suggestion:

Tim; When you go to pick up the manifold from Tom, take along a sensor for the 1.8 and see if it fits the 1.6 hole that Tom took his out of. If it does, the tap size I talked about above is correct.

Maybe. There's another sensor with a green connector. It's got one spade terminal on it. It's much smaller in thread. This may or may not be the one in question. It's been a long time.

Do you or Paul have one? If so I'll bring it.
