Default In case you were wondering...

A Venom 650R is not faster than a turbo miata on the highway, from roll 50 to 110. We tried 3 times, pretty much door to door twice, and the third time I I got some misfiring and lost boost. But my nose was at his quarter panel. Sure he would have had more up top, so if the highway were clear he would have clearly pulled on me at hyper legal speeds, but traffic got in the way before that could happen.

Damn, wish I had a cam for that one...

There are some older pics in vBGarage. Maybe some more current pics floating around.

They might have 650 hp, but there geared for fuel economy.

yeah he was, because it happened 3 times in a row

He would definately have me at a dig. And he definately would have more up top.

I'm in agreement with Ben. I got into it with a '96-'02 body style GTS on the freeway, and I came out of it very surprised.

Wow, that's quite a kill story. I find it hard to believe that you beat a car with 650hp though, when you're 255whp. Don't get me wrong 255whp is good, but I mean you're talking a 11 second car there, seems like he may have been getting on it and toying with you but I doubt you pulled one that was going all out.

by the way, a viper has a very hard time keeping the tires on the ground... I have driven one many times, the GTS model. @465 in 2nd gear in a straight line, floored will break and burn the tires, powered into 3rd, still burning(after they gained traction in 2nd too), 4th gear at 120 chirped... those cars have an enormous amount of torque, and even with the 315's it comes with, they still arent good enough to keep the power down... you can expect to slip until your tires match ground speed at 30+ depending on driver skill. but they are HELLA fun to drive!!!! I loved driving sideways at 80 in 3rd gear in a straight line having oncoming traffic sh*t their pants as i have the car come back straight...

I've taken the lovefab nsx (about 800rwhp) off the line but once he gets any traction, its like I am standing still. The back end gets squirrly well over 100mph.
