I think I will do that, but I'd rather have all the blankets at least somewhat spoken for before I spend $2300 out of my pocket. Mind you, I am not a business, otherwise I'd be talking to the distribotors and keeping these in stock. I am just looking to do this to save everyone a few dollars you know, and I'd hate to screw myself over.
I will have a solid update around noon for everyone with an eta as well I hope.

Saml01, wait a minute, you are not on the list yet, what gives, you know you want one, it is cheaper than that Corvette you wanted to buy....should I put you on the list?

It fits anything with a t2 and t3 flange, even some smaller t4's, the blankets are somewhat universal. Thanks for jumping in man, 4 more.

Any pics of the actual product or at least a description of the construction, materials used, etc?

*edit* You weren't clear if the pic in post three the actual product or just a "Hey noobs! This is what a turbo blanket looks like" shot.

Here is the pic of the actual ebay auction, I am buying the blankets in bulk so we can get a better price.

You can have any color as long as it is black.

Info from seller:
This Turbo Blanket is made from high quality fiberglass composite.

This product will fit up to a Turbonetics T-66/GReddy T-88 Turbine Housing. Will fit most t3 and t4 turbos.

We welcome bulk purchases for better pricing. Send me a message about how many you are interested in purchasing.

Doesn't sound like this will fit a small t2 like the GT2554R. Isn't that T-88 a bit of a monster? Seems strange that there would be that much adjustment to the blanket.

It should fit smaller turbos according to the seller, that's what he told me.
The blankets are made out of a fabric like material, they have a very wide range of fittment, that's why the ad says up to ... as a max size for comparison.
You secure the blanket over the housing with a wire that is included.
Hope this helps clear things up for some of you guys.

Zabac, I think what people are concerned about is it being a bit to loose.

What I would like to know is if they can make an opening for the wastegate rod, so those with internal wastegates dont have too.

Probably not, I doubt they would be willing to alter the product free of charge. Beside, they are all brand new in boxes, I wouldn't want anyone taking mine out of the box to randomly place a hole where they think my rod will be...
How hard can it possibly be to punch a hole in it though?

You have 6' of tie down wire provided with the blanket, you decide how tight you want that ****** to be.

Maybe looking at this in a different way. John Goodman's pants will fit Mary Kate Olsen with out a doubt. However not very ******* well. Sure you can use some rope and maybe the elastic wasteband will help a bit, but it will look retarded and probably not be very effective.

In case I've lost you ... GT2554R = Mary Kate, Greddy T-88 = John Goodman. John Goodman is fat, Mary Kate is skinny.

I understand that the blanket is universal, but how much wiggle room is there going to be? Maybe I'm missing something about these blankets that's obvious to you.

It makes the sense.

Anyway you can get some dimensions off of them?

I for one have never seen a "turbo size specific" blanket just a range, so I am not over thinking the fitment issue.

The pants have a specific size, aka, not meant to interchange, the blankets are universal.
I reall don't know a better answer until I have one in my hand, but if they are universal they should fit.
The only we can know for sure is if someone with a gt25 buys one at the $125 or whatever, and tries it out for the rest of the gt25 guys.
I really think these will fit, and if they don't, how hard will it be to sell one of these on ebay to some for as much as you paid for it cause the $75ish is still $50 cheaper than what they go for.
There really is no way to lose here.

The more I bug these guys with questions, the less likely they are willing to help me, I am in the best possible negotiation position if I am easy to work with and make the deal so easy on them all they have to do is say yes, take the money and ship the ****. That's it.
I don't want to bug the guy to have him open an item to measure it. and report back to me, time is money, the more time the guy spends on the more money he will want, kinda like a hooker, you know, don't ask question, jsut stick the weenie in there and hand over the money, those are 15 minutes well spent.

Maybe I caught retardation today, but why does the blanket care what flange the turbo it's going on has?

I think he's just saying that it will fit any of the t2, t3, and t4 turbos, so if you have a GT2560R, you fall into the t2 flanged turbo bracket. If you have a GT3071R, you fall into the t3 flanged turbo bracket. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the way I read it. Just a matter of correct and incorrect terminology I think.

Eh. I'm planning on sticking one on a td04h-13t. It's 2560-ish sized. Any reason to think that'll be a problem?

I was referring to the general sizing, t2's are smaller than t3's which are smaller than t4's etc, just to give you an idea.
Deliverator, I really think you will be fine with that size turbo.

From what I've seen these are used alot on larger turbos (t4 +), and easily made to fit on smaller one's....

Spent a couple minutes searching, and couldnt find much for smaller one's..

Did find one place which seem to have one's made for t25 int gated turbos, but was more than $50 more than what we're being offered here

Point is, IMO I'm getting in on this (so long as price stays where its at), if for some reason I cant make it work in a satisfactory way (which I doubt), I'll sell on ebay for what I paid (if not more) and cough up the extra $$ for one of these, or similiar...

Again I dont see why this wouldnt work by tucking in the excess, and cutting a small slit for the WG rod, while using enough metal wire or whatnot to hold it down...FWIW I'll be trying to do this on a gt2560

Now question is WHEN!!! I want mine already, the DIY heatshield I made is rattling against my brake lines and taking up way too much space...

Zabac, anytime you need help getting something like this together let me know...Be more than happy to do some legwork or whatnot and assist the sale...
Since very few (if any) people have said it, THANKS for looking out!
