A forum member I could trust, but I'd rather leave any third party out of the ordeal...he is doing enough overnighting these to me.

You can't prove anything with cash, that's my only issue...would you feel comfortable fronting that much money with no record other than a few emails? Don't think so.

The local member down there doesn't want anything to do with the money, which I can totaly appreciate, I would not worry about him, he has a good reputation here, the seller I don't trust too much with cash. I already know they are in a pinch, so who knows what they would do with $4K in their hand with little record indicating they got it.
I am still trying to push the paypal on them, i know they have it since they are an ebay seller. They are just trying to bullshit their way into a non-taxable sale, cause it won't exist on paper, which doesn't bug me, I have nothing to do with that, what I have a problem with is the fact that they quoted me the $75 ea. price on 50 unit minimum, once I hit that number,m they started giving me ultimatums, I wish they were local, I'd go by the shop with the cash and **** on their faces on my way out.

These guys sound shady. When a company makes it difficult for you to give them your money... it's pretty much guaranteed to go badly.

I don't think anyone would fault you if you decided not to do this GB (especially since you're fronting the dough up front out of pocket).

I know what your saying, but I know they are legitimate, even though they sound shady. I think they made a mistake about the priginal price point and now hate it that they have to stick to it and are therefore trying to recoupe as much as possible, that's why they don't want to take credit card or paypal to avoid any more fees.
As far as the shipping goes, I just didn't want to pay their inflated ebay'esque shipping fees, so I sought after a better alternative, which would be a local member that I can trust.
I think I am going to make this easy, I will call the owner tomorrow and call it point blank, I think my salesperson may just be getting greedy and lazy, so we'll see what he says.
I'll tell him to give me his paypal or no deal...tired of ******* with them.
I'll let ya'll know what happens in the morning.

I say pull the plug. Sounds like they are scamming you. Any vendor that wants to do a cash only sale "to keep it off the books" is up to something. Seriously how legit can they be? I'd be worried that I'd receive a box of rocks for my $4000.

I can understand a vendor not wanting to eat the 3% transaction fee. That's $120 on $4000.

Did they offer to add the 3% into the price as an alternative to cash?

If I got this feeling from them

They are just trying to bullshit their way into a non-taxable sale, cause it won't exist on paper, which doesn't bug me
I wouldn't do business with them.

Default Update!!!

Update!.

After a bonafide mexican standoff, I was able to come out on top and insisted on paypal or no deal. They budged, gave in and accepted paypal.

Reason for missunderstanding, other then me being european and the seller being middleastern, seller didn't want to eat any paypal fees (our price point was too low) and didn't want me to be able to file a claim to get my money back and screw him over (since we were doing a local pickup and he was not shipping to confirmed address he was liable, I'll give him that).

So I agreed to pay the paypal fee of 3% and to pay him $20 to have the blankets shipped to my confirmed address...both problems solved!

It is now a done deal, the blankets are going in the mail today and will be here in two days. Just in time for the Gap!!!

We are only getting black blankets in this shippment, all those who wanted a gray one, I will include a few extra in addition to the second batch of 25.

We all win!!!

Now, I lost a few bucks on the paypal fee, but no big deal, I will get a few more blankets than we signed up for and sell them on ebay to make my money back after all needs have been met here, 2-3 blankets should do, so don't worry about me, I made a conscious decision.
I appreciate everyones patience on this, you should all be getting your blankets very soon. I will post another update once they arrive.

PS-Samnavy, I followed your advice on what to type in the paypal comment field, I was very specific.

I'll PM you my number...

Also, anyone that is going to the Gap PM me for my number.
I should have the Blankets on Thrusday more than likely, but we all know that USPS is not really reliable in that aspect, so it may not happen, just beware, if they get here, I will bring them to the gap.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late on this.

Are any of these still available? If so, what is the deadline for payment?

Thank you,

Another Update
The blankets just got dropped off at the post office and he called me to let me know along with a label number...so good news so far.

Once these are in my possesion, I will PM the people in the first batch for payment as noted in earlier posts on one of the pages, etc.

Post office stated I should have these Thursday, maybe Friday, so just in time for the Gap delivery for me and Ill **** out the rest when I get paid.

Glad to hear everything worked out Dan. Props to Dan for setting this up for you guys and fronting the money. Thats quite the liability most people wouldn't take.

Hey Chris,
I want to thank you for offering to handle the shipping.
The shop owner and I came to terms on everything and cleared up a lot of questionmarks. He insisted he handled the shipping in order to be in comliance with Paypal to protect him, which I can understand as I was wanting the same for the money I was fronting...
Thanks again,

Dan

I can't tell you for sure, but assuming based on some other posts earlier in this thread, they fit nice on even very small Turbo's, so I would go with it...if ti doesn't fit, sell it on ebay for $100...

Default Update on Shipping!!!

Update!!!

Great news, the box is at the USPS post office, they didn't drop it of at my apartments office, but after talking with them, they will get it back out and drop it off at the office.
The ladies that work there said they will sign for it and drop it off inside my apt. for me. They go home before I get there so I can't let it sit.

Will update tonight when I get home.
