autopartswarehouse.com? --> Yay. Success.
Starter on the Sentra went kaput yesterday. Cheapest replacement I can find is $84 at autopartswarehouse.com, anyone have any experience with them?

2001 Sentra SE 2.0 -- I don't know if the GA18DE and the SR20DE use the same starter or not.
Advance's cheapest was $130ish after core swap, I think. Same at OReilly's, same at Autozone. NAPA was more expensive.

I figure if olderguy is happy with that other website, it's good enough for me. And don't have to mess with taking the core back afterward or driving to the store in the middle of the process. Just check the mail in a couple days.

retailmenot.com = winning, use coupons for "online pickup" with advance auto parts and save alot of money. if its not available for in store pick up i can vouch for autopartswarehouse. i purchased a shock to replace a blown shock on a lexus gs300, exact item and has been working fine....

Rockauto seems to be 50/50 in the Escort build over the last 1.5 years in sending me the right parts.
Unfortunately, because it's a long term build, i don't find out that the parts aren't right until months later, and of COURSE they won't do anything about it if it's after 30 days from ordering.
So.. when all is said and done, i'll have a good 15-20 parts to sell after the build, and i have no idea what some of them even are.
Brakes and gasket sets is about all i'll buy from them anymore. They aren't the cheapest anymore once shipping is factored in. Been buying a lot from Advance and just whoring their discount codes.

If the online discounts you find aren't enough, call the 1800 number and they'll usually give you at least 30% off.
but sometimes you gotta do rockauto or even ebay for parts.

I had a BAD experience with autopartswarehouse.
Ordered front rear 02 sensor for the miata. I went out of my way to pay a little more and order ones with a harness to clip into the factory connector. I get box with the complete wrong part. bosch 02 sensor for a different make car and they were splice in.
I called to let them know and even told them how the order sheet had a different part number from the items in the box, and how both of them had a completely different part number from what I bought online. They said they "would take care of it" and after fighting for about 3 weeks I finally threatened to have my CC company cancel it for non-delivery of goods. Funny thing this RMA that was taking weeks to complete magically was authorized and sent during my final conversation.
I will not be ordering from them again.

Got the starter no problem, yanked the old one last night before dinner, then installed the new one this morning. Started right up, yay me.
So...anything fun to do with a dead starter? Any stores that pay you the core charge without needing a purchase receipt?
