Who's at work?
Sitting at home scratching your ***** is not a job, no matter how badly(or nicely) it feels like one.
So who is at work on this wonderful Monday morning?
Is it slow for you since its the end of the year, or is it crunch time since its the end of the year?
Are you planning on wasting your whole day browsing MT.net or are you actually planning on doing some work?
Whos on paid vacation for the next two weeks? Thats still kinda like work.
Post something interest for those who are killing time to do or read.
I'm at work, but im bouncing for 2 weeks vacation starting wednesday. Its not even going slow for us, we are just dead. I work in IT and dude to the way the end of year works, we are at a full stop on everything. I am basically twiddling my thumbs for the next two days and have been for the last week. So I am planning on killing all my time spamming the hell out of this forum today.
If someone wants to post up something interesting to read, im up for it.
Anything but cracked though, I have read everything on that site, there's nothing left.

I'm at work. I'm a Materials Controller for the Yamaha assembly plant in GA. We only have 2 of the 4 lines running today and tomorrow, I'm making sure our orders for the first production day in January are going to be here on time and planning out the next couple of months. We've cut some production based on the time of the year and due to the economy, but apparently our stuff is still selling pretty well.
I get to be here Wednesday and next Monday and Tuesday for inventory. Other than that, I'm off until the 7th of January when we start back up, and it's paid vacation. Hopefully the machine shop gets my block finished this week so I can start putting the car back together during my time off.

I'm at home, you can check my other thread as for the reason why.
A buddy who made it into work today texted me saying the VP of manufacturing closed the plant for tuesday and wednesday (thursday and friday are paid holiday of course) because there's 1.5' of snow everywhere and the forklifts can't get around.
We're incredibly slow right now anyways, we've laid off about half our workforce (used to be a little more than 400) in the last 6 months.

I got to the shop this morning and it was 14* out, with wind probably below 0. I spent about 2 hours shoveling snow off the trucks and around the shop, but that was it. I was surprised we didn't work today, must mean ***** slowing down. Definitely too cold to pour concrete, but we could have set forms at least. Now I'll waste my day on COD all day.
The only time I envy office jobs is when its bitter ******* cold. Like can't feel my toes at 8am, and I know I'm gonna work till dark.

I'm off the next 2 weeks and paid. I made breakfast for the wife and I this morning. We are going to brave the mall for one last present in a little bit. Going skiing the 26th in New Mexico for a couple of days. I am glad the next couple of day are in the 40s & 50s so I can get stuff done on the Miata. I don't think I am going to get to install the turbo though. I still need a few more parts, and I will probably have to do it sometime in Feb or March.

At work. Gotta work tomorrow and then the rest of the week is paid vacation. Same deal next week. Like Saml01, I'm in IT, and some days I have a lot of work, other days, not so much. Today is a "some work" day. It sucks that I'll be spending all my time off indoors. It's currently -1 outside right now and the temps have been like this for a week now. I drive 15 miles to work and the miata never really gets warm :(

I'm at the office in Austin, trying to figure out where to put this grant money. I work for the federal government, so its never really high-stress...aside from the 4-6 times per year that I have to deal with politicians...and I think my post-count supports that logic.

Yep, add my name to the growing list of IT dudes.
Normally we start to slow down until the new year (when our customers get new budgets for the year), but this year has been ***** to the wall since hurricanes Gustav and Ike. In fact, this month is looking to be my best month of the year (we make a commission on our billing for the month in addition to our base pay).
