For what it's worth I do a fairly simple three day muscle group cycle. Don't have the best diet. Sit on my *** most of the day besides when I work out. And I am fairly ripped for my body weight/height. I find that when I do go crazy and go scientific on it, there is only a minimal difference. Not enough to justify the extra work. Plus everything works differently for everyone.
I've tried so many work outs/meal plans/etc.. in the last 10 years and have only noticed slight differences between them. Obviously some are geared more towards weight loss, others towards weight gain, size vs tone, etc... but I have never done or seen a miracle workout, that was better than anything else out there.
Focus on form so you don't hurt yourself, eat generally healthy, and try and make it fun and challenge yourself so you don't get bored.

In all seriousness, I'm with Y8s in that it's awfully nuanced and complicated. I would also argue that genetics must be a pretty big factor because I would be willing to bet that if you put me and an "endomorph" on the same diet and workout routine, I'd end up in better (aesthetic) shape.

Dudes got bitch shoulders and wears too tight shirt to make up for it.
Alright i'm done watching the video.. problem with their logic is that they are missing the step where they gotta let the body repair it self. This aint a fetus that's growing using dna... there's no need for the brain to tell **** to heal. What i do agree with though is that it needs blood flow. More blood flow = faster healing therefore motion that increases blood flow = increases healing rate. Now of course curling 50 lb dumb bells with a ripped biceps is different than opening and closing your elbow to increase blood flow with no weight.

Haven't watched the video above yet, but I recognize Kelly Starrett from MobilityWOD. He's a good resource for understanding musculature imbalances and proper stretching/rehab techniques, but he also gets into some questionable stuff (jaw position/mouthguard, etc.)
Still, I read his blog just for the muscle imbalance/myofascial release information. It's made a huge difference with my piriformis syndrome and head/neck tension.
EDIT: How's the new diet going, Leafy?

Its going. I believe I've hit my sustainable weight. Or close to it. Since I dont seem to be dropping weight as drastically. I need to finish up some more grad work this week and hopefully I'll hit the gym next week. You know, this diet is surprisingly cheap, I think my monthly food bill has actually gone down 10 bucks.

I've lost 10 more lbs since this thread started. Worked out maybe 5 times due to me having to nurse my elbow. Enjoying the good life of chicken, beef, cheese and broccoli.
Edit: Now I'm really enjoying the life as I'm wearing size L shirts for the first time in...who knows how long. 36 waist is not even a week away.

Can anyone help with my golfers elbow. I've had it about 4 months now. I've tryed rest, ice, light forearm work to get rid if imbalance, chest and triceps workouts for imbalance, now heat and workouts to get more blood flow to it.
I believe I got it from 1 arm pull ups, 1 arm chin ups don't hurt. I don't know if that would help at all but thought I would include it.
Saw acupuncture twice but didn't see any difference. He felt it wasn't that bad. I then was a doctor and he just subjected I continue light forearm work. He then said to ice it, then have me a tendon strap.
When I first got it, I got a compression sleeve for work when I'm stocking. Then I started using the tendon strap until one day when after wearing it my tendon started hurting bad. It went away after a few minutes but I stopped wearing that. Now I don't wear anything.
Supplements are all from Controlled Labs
Orange triad
Fish oil
Blue gene
White flood
Purple wrath
I really want to get over this so I can start climbing hard again.
Sorry for horrible grammar and spelling. :(

Our grocery bill definitely went up, but our total food bill probably stayed about the same (since we weren't eating out or getting take-out nearly as often). Plus you're getting more nutrition per dollar.

I have lost 12 lbs and have yet to start hitting the gym. I should be working out again soon I've just been lazy and summer semester just started. I am pretty sure my grocery bill shrank as well.

Where you feel you need it, and well, tight enough that it doesnt hurt any more. That was over a decade ago. Mine seemed to work right on the fat part of the fore arm, like an inch below the elbow.
Whats funny is in my other elbow for like the last 4 years I've had a tendon that I can feel slip out of the groove and slap back in when I do the downward motion of hammer curls or and part of reverse curls. Doesn't hurt just feels really uncomfortable so, I just dont do reverse curls and I twist to normal curls for the down part of hammer curls.

This elbow thing is new to me. I've never had this injury before. I noticed it when my left side wasn't pushing up dumbells as fast as my right side, then after an hour in the gym the left wouldn't go up at all.
I've had no "pain" just soreness and some distress. It doesn't hurt to lift or use my arm. But it's annoying as **** and I'm trying everything I can to get it to go away so I can lift like a ******* animal again.
I bought a few different braces from Amazon. Traditional tennis elbow brace, compression sleeve and now an adjustable sleeve. Compression sleeve seems to be the best.
I've also started icing after lifting, taking fish oil and This really, really helps.
If anyone has any more ideas, please let me know.

Watch out for greek yogurt that's made with starch thickeners and not made in the true style.
