The solution to tailgaters is much easier than people think... Just drive faster? Then again I don't drive on many 4 lane roads, but I have yet to be tailgated since adding FI...

Road ragers are ridiculous...and usually the most offensive ones don't get anywhere fast. They spend all that time and effort tailgating, honking, flippin' off, changing lanes, speeding up through 50yd spaces etc...and then they get off 2 whole exits later while they're still in your sight, and catch the red light after the off ramp anyhow as you continue cruising by at 70mph.

What a waste...and it's dangerous.

I've had one guy stop and walk up to my car. He started shouting...looked down at me and must have seen in my face that I was going to let him finish and then be ready to retaliate if he took it up a notch...and just turned on his heel and went back to his car. Didn't hurt my feelings any...he's the one that can't drive for **** or control his temper.

I get mad a lot too...but just when people are driving in a manner that either grossly ignores well known laws that allow traffic to flow (stopping at right turns with protected lanes etc.), or if they are endangering my safety. Sad part is I let more stuff go when I'm by myself...but take it really personal when my family is in the car with me. I have to really remind myself I can't let things escalate....but still honk or flash lights to the real ******** just so my voice is heard...and they don't just keep walking over everyone.
Are you serious? I met you for an hour. I'll be in texas again soon if you think you can punk me out give it a try

I think we are ignoring the fact that there are two kinds of rage drivers. Offensive and defensive. Offensive drives like **** and gets mad at people slowing them down, so they jump in and out of lanes. The defensive are the ones that get mad at the offensive ones and try to block them in and make them wait... I'm defensive One is the scum of Earth, the other is the defender of all things good.
I'm 5'11" 220 lb. How am I a little guy?

Did you even read the whole thread? Everyone is saying how they do all this **** to tail gaters and I said I let them go by. How am I being a bully? I'm actually the nice drive on the road that let's people go and I'm the opposite on my feet. The only thing I would say I would flip out about is if someone flipped me off for a stupid reason or talked ****.

I'm not always in the Miata passing everyone, a lot of times I'm in the OTM with my wife and/or daughter in the car. Ever had someone tailgate you in the slow lane while the fast lane is wide open? No justification.

You're becoming one of my favorites. Almost bring me as much laughter as Hyper. Almost, not quite though. Keep at it, maybe you can take the douche of the year award, you have a good start at it. *stirs pot*

Just messing with you though man. It's hard to not talk **** on the internet, its too much fun.

Dudes, seriously. The tension in this thread is palpable. Calm down, it's just the internet.

No kidding. Some people get so worked up, its hard for me not to try and **** them off. Its a hobby of mine I guess.

So just as a warning. 95% of the time, if I come off sounding mad or act like a dick, I am probably just ******* with you. I'll make it obvious otherwise.

I do too a lot of times, but I usually realize it before I finish my post and delete it. A lot of little things set me off, but I have learned to control it over the years. Behind the wheel is one of the last frontiers for me. If I could control my irritation and anger there, I would be fine. No major confrontations yet though, so I guess thats a good thing.

I find that turning around and politely waving and smiling at them usually creeps them out enough to back off my ***.

Actually I might try that next time my top is down. Act like you know them and are trying to give them a friendly hello. Make hand gestures like you are trying to tell them something, but do it so they can't figure out what you are saying so they will look away and try to ignore you. Do like a taking a drink from a cup gesture, then do the phone on the ear gesture. Maybe throw in a shrug and a laugh and the creepiest smile you can manage. Actually that would make my day. Maybe thats my new fix for being pissed off.
