Default how often does a deal like this come around?

I still cant bleaive me friend got this car for the price. info:

04' audi A4

k04 turbo, chipped by some repibutable company, $1500 suspention, $2000 stoptech brake kit, recaro heated and cooled seats ($1500 a piece!), $1000 pop up head unit, $600 LED/HID headlights, $1500 wheels, full 3in exhaust, nice racing steering wheel, $600 half roll cage, and extra ****

Edit, the steering wheel is the rare *** Audi LeMAns edition suede wheel... goes for $600. **** me.

Now thats around 10k in mods alone. A stock A4 runs about 10k. Also, the car is in great condition, runs great etc.

So you would think around 13 to 15k would be the selling price right?

My friend got it for ******* 8k .

Why cant I find these deals!?

yea that is a steal. you don't want vw/audi electrical issues tho. my old jetta used to turn the hazards on when i turned the wipers on.....idk how they interacted but from the wiring i could see everything was normal lol

When buying/selling a car one must always remember: you NEVER count the "investments". If its modded with 10k in it, you'd be lucky to get 5 over regular stock price. That's the way it is. Its a good AND a bad thing.

Every time I read a thread regarding Audis/VWs there's always somebody who owned one that had these little nagging problems- nothing that would leave you stranded, just something annoying. Are they really that way, or is this just a few incidences that happened to members here?

I had no problems with my mildly modded '98 A4. Had it for 3 years. Good car, I just wanted something with an easily tunable ECU (not generic chip).

Own the 3rd Skoda Octavia RS now (200bhp TFSI and now 170bhp Diesel engine) which is 99% VW technic. Next to 0 problems. Very solid, fast and gives you good mpg for a daily.

Like this... I think you dion't have them in the US...

Supposedly none. The rollbar was not put in, just came with it. According to my friend, the guy was real cool and knew his stuff.

Pretty much all the German makes had some nagging fit and finish and electrical issues around 2000. They got ironed out pretty fast though. My dad has a 1.8T and it was a fantastic car.

They are not really good as all-out performance vehicle (expensive to mod, heavy) but they are fantastic as a high performance daily driver. They react well to basic mods, especially since they run such low boost from the factory in a lot of aplications. The drivelines are very stout.
