Am I correct in assuming that most of the cheap 3D printers are still squirting out hot plastic through a nozzle (such as from a weed whacker spool) as opposed to using a laser to solidify liquid resin?

You're correct as in "cheap" meaning lower cost. If you look at the resolution of the lower cost machines today they are better than the $10-15K machines not too long ago.

why not just use a service like Shapeways - Make, buy, and sell products with 3D Printing

Look past the jewelry and blingbling crap and there is some seriously cool **** on that site.

Shipping parts from somewhere else will quickly kill the fast/cheap aspect of printing in-house.

here's the few I narrowed it down to in the "cheap but for work" category:

TAZ 3D Printer | LulzBot
Solidoodle
Products | Printrbot
https://www.ultimaker.com/

all were very well regarded with price increasing as size and capabilities increased.

Look for something with a heated bed.

What did you try to do that was not in your job contract?

I'm management. I exist outside of the IBEW / IATSE contract system.

I'm not sure what specific thing exactly, but I've spent the past week down in the studio area, measuring and mounting racks, hanging brackets on the wall, supervising the removal of a bunch of old electrical wiring, sweeping the floor, etc.

I don't think I actually stepped on anyone else's territory (eg: I have, in fact, let my IBEW 1212 guy do all of the actual electrical wiring,) this is mostly just grumbling about the new guy being too motivated.

Zappos zings Kanye West after '(expletive) product' diss - NBC News.com

"I got into this giant argument with the head of Zappos that he's trying to tell me what I need to focus on. Meanwhile, he sells all this **** product to everybody, his whole thing is based off of selling **** product," said West.
Zappo's response:

"Yes, it's true that we sell **** product," said Hsieh in a statement linking to the page.

Our new receptionist falls asleep often. She's not union though, just a train wreck.

Oh boy I count multiple infractions here....

measuring and mounting racks = millwright or whatever the equivalent is
hanging brackets on the wall = carpenter
sweeping the floor = janitor

supervising the removal of a bunch of old electrical wiring = you're allowed but I suspect the intent of the grievance is so you don't hang around doing the 'supervising' stuff anymore.

I usually NEVER have problems with Asus computer hardware, but I recently purchased a new M5A99FX Pro 2.0, and I am on my second one after a RMA replacement for a DOA cpu bus, and I already sold my very reliable M5A99X Evo 2.0 in ignorant confidence that the better board would work.

Now my god damn audio jacks and drivers arent working!
When I plug my surround sound speakers in, the audio manager gets retarded and thinks i am ******* with the front jack too, literally. It acts like I keep plugging and unplugging the front headphone jack when it isnt even wired for one on my case; and after I "disabled" the front audio jacks, I still get no sound after the ape **** chaos with the audio jack sensor.

I updated the shitty realtek drivers, but could all this be avoided if I just use a fresh OS install? I did just plug in the new mobo and updated the drivers... but i have done that in the past without issues.
