She must have been from Atlanta as she went from the lar left lane to the exit ramp in one fell swoop with no blinker and had to cut the gord to do so and almost hit me. That is a hourly activity here. I mean, I drive from Grand Junction to Atlanta in 2 days and the exact moment I got to 285 (our perimeter) traffic turned into an instant free-for-all. It's amazing. Downtown Boston- no problem. Denver? Nada. L.A. traffic on a holiday weekend? Bring it. Salt Lake City? Cake walk. Dallas....slightly irritating. Atlanta? Get me out of here. We finally "got modern" and improvised those on-ramp flow signals and 70% of people still don't understand the concept. People stop at them when they aren't even on, they'll get a green light and be a ******* slow *** and start to go only for the light to change back to red for the car behind them but instead they'll slam on the brakes thinking they're about to run a red light, some people simply don't stop....and I want to kill them all.

CARB is the only reason I would not get along in Cali....unless I got to keep my car registered somewhere else.
There's your problem right there.

You're lucky she still remembers how to use the brakes. Most prius owners cant

Whats really funny/sad to me is how nobody really seems to have a problem with dangerous elderly drivers. They are a huge voting block and thats probably the reason this is so. Where 17 year old kids who have accidents or speed are the anti-christ itself apperantly.

Whats funny to me is PHX. You have a fairy Cali type of driver for the most part, but then for about 6 months of the year you have the blue hairs out there. The swings can be quite impressive. I am still amazed I did not get in an accident while I lived there.

I would **** and moan about Cali drivers, but honestly I moved back to CO (I hope I never have to leave again) 2 years ago and the drivers are from another planet compared to when I left. People here have no bals and are imcapable of using a turn signal anymore. I pretty regularly will encounter a situation as follows:

I am doing 75 in a 75 zone in the right lane, with someone passing me on the left. Someone else is merging. Now they are going about 75 already, maybe a bit faster as they are merging. They are about 1 car length ahead of me.

What do I do? I slow down a bit to give them some room since I can't go left.

What do they do? Freak the eff out and hit the brakes. Because if you cut in front of someone doing 65 instead of 75 its much safer right?

Its like the people who cut you off, but only half way, while hitting the brakes. Just effing do it! If your going to be a *****, at least be competent about it. When I am being an *** and cut someone off, I floor the bitch.

GAHHHHHHHHH!

WTF happened to my state? I leave for a few years and this is what happens. ****.

Now I feel sad and angry.

Use boost as a safety device. Never get boxed in.

I figured it had something to do with owning a Prius. She did eventually use them...at the end of the exit ramp to get a foot massage before making a jaggad right hand turn on whateverstreet. Don't worry though, here in Atlanta, Prius drivers suck just as much...it's nationwide for them.

I see a real similar situation in FL all the time. The rule seems to be that anytime you are changing lanes, you must hit the brakes. I doesn't matter whether there is traffic behind you, traffic ahead of you, or no traffic at all. It's like the steering wheel is interlocked such that it cannot be turned if the brake pedal is not depressed. I cannot figure out what the thought process is here, but it's pretty much universal whether you're on I-75, US-41, or any other multilane highway.

So another thing people cant seem to figure out here are 2 lane roundabouts. Much easier to understand than merging at the speed limit, but still. Its not that tough!

To my hometowns credit we have about 6 of them and I have not had/seen any problems. Honestly I was against them when they were talking about puttng them in, but they seem to work really well here.

+1 on using boost. I dont have any. Working on it. Although even when I have had boosted cars I try to stay out of the passing lane if I am only going the speed limit or 5 over. Stupid.

Maybe if we forced a product on people that made obscene noises when they use the brakes oo much and verbaly abused them?

Like that episode of Top Gear where when Clarkson turned on the traction control in a Holden Monaro and an Aussie voice started calling him a ****** and informing him that the voices girly was a faster driver. Maybe it could be like that V8 sound device posted up a couple weeks ago.

Here in TN we merge at 70+ whether the speed limit is 55 or 70. The on ramps are always fun with high speed turns.

Maybe they do in Socal... I haven't driven enough there to have a good feel for it.

In the Bay Area though, I constantly (like every onramp that isn't completely clear) get behind asshats trying to merge into 65-70mph traffic flow while doing 40-50mph. The horn doesn't help, because they just don't get why they should go faster. During non-HOV hours I tend to blaze the onramp in the HOV lane (a lot of the onramps here are two lane at the top) passing as many of the morons as possible. Once in a great while it's actually amusing to do it as some ricer will be stuck to my *** going into the onramp to do the same thing... only I have FCM's/15x9's/RS3's and they don't. Lots of panicky understeer happens as a rule though I haven't seen anyone actually go off.
