If you have room to work on it I'd start tomorrow.

I just need to sack up and sort the black car out. Then we can can use that space for truck things. I can fix the red one at my home garage. Just needs a SHITLOAD of wiring work.

Let me know if you want another distraction when you're working on the black car.

Hah!

We're to the point where i think you're more than capable of helping effectively. Just needs the new suspension installed, i think maybe brake pads and rotors, need to roll the fenders for the FD/245/45-16 setup, make intercooler setup not look like dick, re-time it, install a working MTX-L, install new speedo gear, and button up gauges.

Realistically, 1-2 days of work.

After that i want to clean the **** out of that place and we need to freshen that motor for you.

This is the truck in question:

It looks like the people almost unanimously want to see me fail at swapping a turbo'd FE3, so I will give the people what they want. It's funny because I have a ranger with a 302 shoehorned in, and now I'm putting a 4-banger into a slightly larger truck.

The rough plan I have in mind so far is to buy a sportage or two for ~$500, build a megasquirt and a wiring harness (Concealer I will trade you labor and beer for help on this), stuff in Kia drivetrain, weld up custom exhaust, and shorten/ lengthen driveshafts as necessary.
For some stupid reason, toyota 3.0s are outrageously expensive on ebay, so I should be able to recoupe the cost of the swap by selling the complete drivetrain afterwards.

The F-motor swap suggestions were given under the assumption that you'd be selling this truck to me for like... a dollar.

Then buying yourself a B2600i.

I do not support an FE3 swap into this truck. Way too much work for too little payoff. You have better options.

I think the answer is 5vz, Megaskwertz, and tracking down a TRD stupidcharger. Maybe from a TRD T100.

The stupidcharger put the T100 up to 260hp/265ftlbs, probably with garbage factory tuning.

With a good tune, and a good eye to details, i bet we could make some healthy power.

Way too much of my actual blood, sweat, and tears have gone into this truck for me to sell it ever. When I die I wish for it to be entombed with me.

But bro, turbo bro.
Whatever we do, we have to also do a 5 speed swap. I loath the auto trans in this thing almost as much as the engine.

My unpopular opinion is that you should swap a Vortec 4200. 4L of inline 6 and its cheap for a modern engine.

$100 bellhousing and you can bolt it to an R154 transmission which should hold like 600whp, if not more.

I love a good straight six, but the biggest limitation is block length. I need to do some measuring, but I do remember the jeep 4.0 being way outside of the realm of possibility.

Subbed for sweet mini truck goodness...

I've been tempted to swap an LQ4 in to my Comanche but the 200k mile 4L just keeps on ticking.

That would be cool if everything else was bolt in and didn't require fabrication.

R154s are also quite expensive around here. :(
