Yeah I've been following it since it's release trying to find something bad about it but so far, nada. Every review I see raves about how well is does for FWD and how its a "game-changer". I will probably pick one up in the next year or 2... At least i'll get to enjoy the Miata boosted before I part it out lol

speed6 vs. ST?

Is that a serious question.

The only positive for the speed6 in that comparison is cost

ST owner irritations:
-No LSD
-Pedals are offset weird. No heel/toe shifts. The gas is a shoe height difference.
-mine gets paint chips like crazy
-on ramps are hard to keep under 80mph
-moon roof lowers internal roof height and have to crank down seat to fit with helmet.
-Stereo is finicky about bluetooth (should update mine)
-wheel options are terrible
-everyone on ST forums wants moar lowz for the flushies
-guys in Mustangs don't believe a stock Focus blew their doors off on a on/off ramp
-STI/Evo owners won't talk to you anymore at autoX
-Recaro seats make road head difficult/impossible
-Has 4 doors, but hate putting other people in because it makes the car heavier
-it doesn't convert into a cool robot and scare off kids in my yard

those aren't much of cons. The LSD is offset by technology.

my con list of the WRX is much longer and I love the car, and have REAL complaints about things.

The lack of LSD is horribly bandaided by tech. Using brakes is no solution for it. I would have happilty paid $1000 more for am LSD option.

it's the new cool thing to do, it's not just Ford doing it.

My WRX does it as well instead of a viscous in the rear like previous models, but it's a hiderance when aggressively driving--the focus is on safety. From what I can determine the ST uses it as a performance enhancement.

The STi can alter how the VDC engages so it doesn't cut throttle and other stuff that my WRX does. But I also like how I don't die and it's incredible stable in the rain when you push it, and drifting in the snow is just too easy.

^that sucks. I know that even with the car left in normal mode will rotate a bit. Did Autocross a few weeks ago and the first session was in the rain. Going ***** out was a hair interesting, yet felt controlled. It did dry up and took first for the novice class for the day. I'm quite happy with beating Evo's and STI's with pax time and really happy to beat most with raw time. I'm right sub 1sec behind a suspension/tune/tires modified Evo with 2x the experience. Talking with a Mazdaspeed 3 guy on rivals I think that will help the most. Just unsure how long they will last on the street. The courses for autocross out here destroy tires. Think gravel held together with hope.

And so far the T6 seems to be going well.

modded [and stock] subbys have no low-end, not great for auto-x.

The problem I see with the Subby and Evo guys is they are really jerky. I'm am NOT a pro at all, nor do I clame to be. Watching them on course looks violent. The guy in the Evo that I play cat and mouse with over times has a much better set up car. Buddy road with him and then me mentioned he's much more darty and jerky than I am. I think that's where the time is made up on my part.

I think half the reason I get my oil analyzed is for the stories now.

There's jerks in all platforms, I just don't like the generalizations going on here.
The local subaru crowd is really awesome, and in fact we've a guy that owns a Focus ST, white, identical to yours that shows up to every single one of our meets and is part of the "family". No one, ever, gives him crap about it.

I think it just depends on people in your area.

And yes, the stories from blackstone are very entertaining
