I am honestly surprised about the shop owner doing what he can to make this right.

Seems like an unfortunate situation with good people. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that kind of place to a friend.

They should have mentioned it at pick up...but you never know...they could make tons of mistakes (paintingwise) and just forgot to mention that one to the boss.

Ive seen this before, When I worked for Griggs racing we got a car in to do a damage report on from a paint shop, one of the prep guys jacked the car up by the oil pan and poped a hole in it, then drove the car! I had the honor to inspect the engine for damage. The body shop payed for everything.
