Belfab Racing rant
I got the belfab deal, supertech slugs and their (m-tuned/cat/949/ect) rods.
My builder calls me and tells me that one of the rod bolts were stripped when i when to install them. I call Belfab and whoever picked up the phone was a real dick at first. Eventually understanding where I am coming from he tells me to mail the rods back and he will refund me the money if they truly are defective. My builder did not strip the bolts, they came stripped.
Long story short, the bolt was stripped, it was belfabs fault and they are not refunding me my money for mailing them overnight to belfab across the country. However they did replace the bolt and inspected the rod itself and claim it is in perfect condition.
Gay. Anyone else have issues with them?
Anyone have any lame issues with any company's when building a motor?

Well, since you ask...
I ordered low-comp, dished pistons for my 1.6. The pistons were shipped a week later than what I'd been told to expect for whatever reason. No big deal, right?
What I received were 9.3:1 flat-top pistons. Called, spoke with Jim, shipped the flat-tops back at my expense. I was told the low-comps would be available in 6 weeks. This was in April.
Still waiting on the dished slugs (or my money) to make an appearance...and I'm getting damn antsy about it.
I've waited longer for parts, so that's no big deal. Just kinda wish someone had called or at least sent an email asking if I was okay with a different compression or if I wanted the money back.

Only issue I've ever had with Jim was slow follow up. His excuse at the time was he was out for a week at a race (he has a race team??) I told him that it was no excuse because he was holding on to my money so I expected a quick response. From then on he was quick to reply. I would buy again.

Still dealing with belfab, i was told that if it was there fault then they would fix or replace my rods for free. Awesome, thought i was being taken care of!
I was told that if it was their fault, belfab, that my shipping would be covered too and to overnight them. So i did.
I am STILL waiting to get the rods back, the did agree it was their fault. Apparently whoever put the rod bolt into the rod didn't care, and stripped it.
Because my builder has 3 of his motors in the top 10 spec miatas in CA. No need to lie about that, and belfab confirmed and said it was their fault.

Overall i would not buy from belfab again, i have dealt with Emilio from 949, Marc from M-tuned and both have not only been a breeze to deal with. If an order has been incorrect, missing a part ect. I have been taken care of in a very timely manner with no questions asked.
