I feel as though the momentum on this may be petering out a tad...
New York man, 62, playing ‘Pokemon Go’ at night gets stuck in mud pit POSTED 10:23 AM, JULY 26, 2016, BY ASSOCIATED PRESS
COEYMANS, N.Y. — Authorities say a 62-year-old man playing “Pokemon Go” at night in the woods behind his New York home became stuck in waist-deep mud and had to be rescued.
Police say the man was playing the game on his cellphone at around 2 a.m. Sunday when he wandered into thick woods behind his home in Coeymans (KWEE’-mihnz), just south of Albany.
Officials say he became trapped in a mud pit up to his waist and couldn’t get out. He used his phone to call 911 emergency dispatchers, who guided an officer to his location by pinging the man’s phone and the officer’s.
PG is becoming such ****. This is what happens when a crap developer lands massive IP. Still buggy, still has little quarks that don't make since, still locationist against rural people. Just hit lvl 21. I now have cp50 weedles and pidgies busting out ***** like a horde of miata drivers in a circle jerk.
Also, if you are a casual player, you never really have any chance of taking part of the "battle" part of the game, since you have to be able to beat the really high CP Pokémon at gyms to get anything out of them.
Its a fun casual game. Seeing as I don't have a license right now and my gf chauffeurs me everywhere I have a lot of time to play
Beyond having to go outside and standing around in order to play aspects of the game, I've played more complicated Atari games.
The actual "fun" part of the game which is going out, hunting down, and finding new pokemon to catch is broken. The pokemon nearby radar in which you require in order to home-in on them is broken. That's HALF the game right there. The main part of the is broken. But they were too eager to release a broken game to the world, causing all sorts of more issues instead of fixing issues that's come up in the beta.
Capturing them, once you find them is no challenge whatsoever. you have to slide your finger and toss a ball.
Then you're required to go outside and stand at gyms in order to fight the pokemon you happenstance collect.
fighting them is clumsy and stupid. it consists of sliding to dodge (which is almost impossible to time correctly) and tapping to attack. My mildly-retarded flaccid ***** could do that.
In order to do better fighting, you can upgrade your pokemon. But you cannot learn new attacks, you cannot learn new button combos for better attacks, you can't upgrade HP vs Attack power. it's dumb.
Then if you happen to beat out a bunch of other pokemon at a gym, you can hold it. and collect coins. the coins are used to buy shitty items that you can already get for free in the game.
If you want to play this game on the toilet, there's not much you can do but evolve shitty pokemon that just waste space in your collection. This game is extremely locationist.
Its only so popular because people like pokemon, and the concept of going outside to play was novel. But until the developer can fix a huge flaw in the game, and then actually make the game purposeful, everyone will stop playing soon enough. Cuase there's simply no point in playing.
