Post your Job and what other cars you own/have owned

About 5 years ago, I was flying off the coast of Alaska for an ex called Northern Edge. We'd been airborne about 45 minutes waiting for the F-15's to show up and get their asses kicked by our Hornets. When they failed to show and were nowhere on radar, we called back to the ship who then contacted the beach and discovered that the F-15's weren't coming today.
Why do you ask?
"Because the seas are too rough" they said. I had access to the Air Force squadrons base frequency and managed to get ahold of an honest-to-God F-15 pilot... he told me,
"Our planes can't fly over the water when the waves get above 10feet because our survival rafts might take on water if we have to eject."
This was when I decided that the entire Air Force was a bunch of ****.

Yes, one sided hate because one guy made a "your mom" joke and you got bent out of shape. Aka: whiny bitch.
You've been lurking on here and haven't heard a your mom joke? no no no, scratch that, you're an E5 and have that thin of skin? I wasn't going to generalize but maybe you are pansies in the AF...
I can't imagine how ANYBODY could spend an appreciable amount of time doing what we do and get so bent out of shape.

I remember flying down to Homestead AFB (yes, I'm old) one day to be an aggressor for an F-15 squadron. My wingman and I had just gotten off a long cruise, and were enjoying a little South Florida flying. I was certain that Homestead had to be kind of a "home port" for a little down time between deployments, kind of like Cecil Field was for us. So, yucking it up with the AF boys (seriously -- they were wearing ascots), I asked them where they deployed. They informed me they were deployed. Their job was to protect South Florida from Cuban aggression. I think I laughed out loud. My wingman told me to shutup. You see, even in the 1980s I was displaying the smart assery that is finally serving me well as a senior member of MT.
So, Sam, you're at NAS New Orleans? What on earth are you doing there? I thought that was all reserve stuff.
Hey, wait, isn't this thread about cars?

Some people just get it, some just don't. Did you really need to correct me on your rank? That kind of unnecessary crap is pretty much what everyone is riding you about. What did you prove in saying "oh no, I'm ACTUALLY an e-4" ?
Who's talking ----? I'm one of the few trying to level with you.

Nope, Air Force. The EOD school is the Navy's school. All the branches go to the same school house run by the Navy. Each branch has a pre school to weed out the undeserving so to speak (depending on the class going through is about a 50% fail rate). After finishing EOD the Navy goes off to dive school and and the others do theirs. I'm a little tired so might have the dive school in the wrong order.
Also what is nice is all the branches INCLUDING the officers are in the same physical class room. So basically the officer above you at some point has the exact same training as you. Not "I got a degree in writing and now I get to lead SF to their death" officers I had.
In a nut shell

I managed to get all my bonus checks and and the wife is stoked that I'm gonna be home a lot more than if I'd done my Department Head tour in a fleet squadron. I'm not planning on doing any more than 20yrs, and the pay difference between 04/05 at 20yrs is like $300 mo... not worth it to break my *** for that.
Hopefully it's back to VaBch after this tour so I can buy another house and finally put down a stake... 5 moves in 6 years is rough on the kids.
