Maybe hypertrichosis is the beginning of a new branch of humans, so that one day the population will look like something from a Final Fantasy game. Lionel the Lion Faced Man looks like someone I would expect to see in an RPG world.

That's pretty interesting (and props.) I'd kind of lost track of the demo scene after I got out of the Amiga platform.
Rummaging around the Pouet site makes me rather curious about something. For instance, this demo was in the 4k category:
(For the non PC-literate, 4k is about the amount of information that will fit on two typewritten 8.5x11" sheets of paper. It's a staggeringly tiny amount of data.)
I just can't buy it. These demos have got to be downloading large amounts of information at runtime. How is that not cheating?

They don't store any textures within the game file, just the procedures used to generate the textures.

Yeah, I understand how vector-based environment description languages work (I used to play with POVray back in the 286 era, and that was all text-based.)
I'm just looking at the huge diversity of objects in the video, and the high level of detail in each one (lots of polygons) and thinking that the description of all of the various objects in that environment seems like it'd take more than 64k, to say nothing of the renderer.

So long as you could define the objects in a small space, and you had a highly intelligent library for the renderer, I do not see why you could not do it in 64k, or even 4k for your other one. Seriously, pay attention to the 4k one - it's basically one single object manipulated throughout each section of the demo.

I am not convinced.
I mean I looked into it for about an hour so far, and it still sounds like "grinding water" to me.
Cool, they can run up to 2.5 bars (about 37 psi) of boost without det, but they do this at 10 to 14 degrees ATDC. I mean, What's the point of all this mechanical flustercuck if you are ending up with a massively retarded setup?
Also, when two pistons do the job of one, don't you get twice the friction, twice the pumping effort to lubricate and cool the associated hardware, and twice the weight?
And, what exactly is the advantage behind having someone else compress the air and hand deliver it to you, besides the obvious additional paths for failure?
From what I gather, this engine has to be boosted, just like a miller cycle engine. Well, don't conventional engines run just fine employing boost - in some cases hybrid, complementary systems such as a SC feeding a turbo?
Sorry guys, but it sounds like asking the neighbor to deliver cupfuls of electricity to my place so I can watch TV.
Somebody please enlighten me if I am waaay off base here.
