Scientology has always been about capital gains.

To be fair, it's not as though Scientology is significantly weirder than any other mainstream contemporary religion, what with the talking snakes, the burning bushes, the magically-multiplying fish, the telepathic animals, and so forth.

Haven't ordered from them recently, but I can say that small retail operations get boned on shipping costs. The volume just isn't enough to warrant any significant discount from the private carriers. Figure on a minimum of $8 to ship 1 lb somewhere reasonably local, and it goes up quickly from there.

So, you either raise your prices to hide the shipping cost, or you show the customer the exact shipping cost. Same difference.

For the company i work for, we ship about 120 orders a day on tuesday-friday from chicago and up to 3oz its about 2.55 - 15.9oz being 4-5 to california. A pound is about 5 bucks depending on distance. To Cali up to 3 lb is about 8-9 bucks. 6-10lb we use UPS like half the time and to California is about 12-15 bucks. Well its 10-11 bucks but there is a 3 bucks on top that they charge for residential delivery. Also UPS are ******* scammers. They require you to have an account that they can keep charging so once in a while they like to add extra hidden fees. Last week we shipped a TV. We added the dimensions and the weight. They gave us a price to ship it. From memory it was just over 40 bucks to ship. We got a bill the same week friday for 19 dollars extra because they said the TV weighted more and the sizes were wrong (100% false claim but they do it because too many people dont notice it). They charged the card on file automatically.

How you gotta do it is you gotta lower the shipping and split the cost. Thats what we did with our company for priority shipping. Priority costs us 5-6 bucks for most packages and we charge only 2.99 extra. We split the cost with the customer since it helps us as well. First class is ****. Sometimes it takes 4 days, other times it takes 2 weeks to deliver the same distance. When a customer decides to do priority is usually more secure with us because priority shipping is usually 2-3 days so we have less problems with delayed packages and because of that more customers are satisfied and because of that less cases are opened for "missing" packages that are just late.

Imma bout to put him out of business:

1. Play with your cat.
2. Don't abuse your cat.
3. enjoy.

in every episode, it's always a clueless owner, in a small shitty apartment, that doesn't know how to own a cat. In probably 9:10 cases, the solution to fix their "cat from hell" was simply playing with it.
