I drive past this sign every day. And, at the risk of sounding a tad ableist, I find it difficult to believe that people who are blind and deaf are spending much time playing soccer in the streets of Chicago.

Interesting. Exactly the same mechanical concept as the first-gen Honda Insight (the best hybrid car ever designed), but with added battery capacity to make it a plugin.
I remember there being a lot of speculation when a still image of this was posted a while back. I assumed (given the presence of the V8) that it was set up purely as an electric supercharger.

My parents have a 2012 Chevy Malibu Eco. Same concept, with only a 15kw motor. I assumed when they bought it, it was a full-blown hybrid system. A few months ago when I actually looked at it I was very surprised to see a slightly oversize alternator with a supercharger belt.
