That's really cool. Our water isn't very clear here (sadly), but farther out it's wonderful.
Same here. Silver Springs is a couple hour drive from me. You can see the difference in color of the ocean compared to the river from this Google Maps picture. This was a track of me calculating how long it took to get to Ramp Road, which is where all the awesome canopies are (It was about 5 miles). I found a spot that I could just walk across the road with the kayak and cut the time in half. Where I live is a bit more open, but lots of wildlife - porpoises, manatees, tons of aquatic birds, etc.
This is what the mangroves look like around me. Not as awesome, but still pretty awesome since I can walk out to my dock and paddle out in a couple minutes.
It's nice to know that the men tasked with destroying all life on earth have a good sense of humor about it.
