Why is it that, during the setup phase of any map, Scouts seem always to insist on hitting everyone on their own team with fish / ham / wrapping paper / Gunbai / etc? It accomplishes nothing, is annoying, and gets in the way when you're an engineer trying to place a building.

It's a game thing. It's like people in war games that knife you, butt stroke you, and t-bag while you are trying to complete an objective.

That's because you are playing with children in pubs, I can't play TF2 ever since it became free and full of hats and ****.

Time to move up to counterstrike. there is competivev matchmaking in GO, so now you can play cs the way it was supposed to be played pretty easily.
If you dick around in competitive, team flashing/knifing/killing, you get vote kicked.

CS:GO classic competitive is by far the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game simply because there is consistent real teamwork.

How nuts am I for considering buying this FB rx7?

Running, 115k on it, cleanest fb i've just about seen, $800 obo on craigslist.

Seriously considering this just to have a rotary to play with, and a cool little car for my dad to drive around (he loves sportscars but only has a truck and a van atm).

I'm comfortable enough to admit that I occasionally appreciate the male form I do live in the keys after all..

Someone sent me this link:

Notable moments are the Miata at 2:50 and you might as well let it run until the BMW clip starts at 3:20 with the on track incident. And then the bitch slap that follows it.

Thirdly, I had 5 years of road racing experience at the time of the filming and am a professional driving/racing coach outside of my day job as an automotive engineer. To my knowledge, the Camaro driver has not done any competitive road racing.

Regarding the incident, while I have summoned Senna's words repeatedly, I'll start with a quote from Prost.

So, I accept my 1% of the blame for the incident. Could it have been avoided? Certainly. I could have backed off for fear of risking damage and lost the 1-lap race to the 800 hp Lingenfelter Camaro. Does a competitive racer do that? Hell no. More reasonably, the Camaro driver could have accepted the fact that he had been out-braked and backed out of it... IF he and his car had the capability to do so...

While you may have your own opinions based on what you can see, my recollection from within the car has not changed since I have watched the various clips of film. If you've been paying attention, you'll notice that the producers put the car that they want to win on the inside line, trying to give them the advantage. With 800 hp on tap, the Camaro did pull me some on the straight when the flag dropped. I knew I wasn't going to be given more than one opportunity to get ahead. He braked early. I shot ahead... FULLY AHEAD, with a gap. I was looking at him in my rear-view mirror. I was now the leader at the beginning of the braking zone, thus making him the attempting-passer.

I hit my braking point and, as we were slowing, I noticed him begin to creep back up on me. I realized that HE realized that he had been out-braked and he tried to compensate by releasing some braking pressure and hang onto the inside line. However, when we reached the turn-in point, he was not beside me at all. Keep in mind that, now that he was the one making the pass, it was his responsibility to gain position (front bumper past my front door) in a clean manner.

What you should see in the first frame of the side-shot is that there is an air-gap between his front bumper and my rear bumper. Now, I admit that this camera is not perfectly beside us, but a bit forward, so we'll say that his front bumper is just eclipsing my rear bumper at this point. However, I am already fully turning at this point. This is AFTER the braking zone and I am turned-in. It's hard to see because the car is so damn stiff. Look at the Camaro, though, and you see he is in a full nose dive. He had left too much speed on the table to make the turn, let alone make the turn from the inside line!

I turned in, losing sight of him as my eyes shifted back to the track and not having any of his car in my right-side periphery, hoping that he had his head screwed on straight and tucked in behind me. I knew I was in a risky position (there's my 1% responsibility). I left him enough room that he could have stuck his outside tires on the pavement (IF he slowed down enough) and we may have rubbed a little paint. So, I did not shoot for the edge of the curbing. I got almost all the way to the apex before being hit in the rear 1/4 panel and rear part of the door. I must say, I love watching the save through the grass as he spins.

So, the incident happened. I think, "Idiot. He got thinking with the wrong head. I should have known I wouldn't be racing a racer... Well, I won... Ok... Put on a face for the camera." I take my helmet off as I pull up to Reep. Camera is ahead of me and to my left. I'm looking from between the left wing of the halo seat and the left A-Pillar
Reep asks me how I feel..... "I feel great! A win's a win."
"Did you bump him?"
"You know, he couldn't get slowed down and he hit me"
Reep, "You're going on to the next round". I start to get ready to go and notice someone standing next to me. I lean forward to see around the halo wing and am greeted with a hand in my face. "F***ing punk" he says as he walks back to his car... I was in utter shock. There was a 0 tolerance policy for physical altercations. But I was asking myself, "WTF just happened?" Yeah, he's bigger than me. That wasn't the issue. I had no reason to get physical. I won, and s**t happens on the track to track cars. It just does. Sadly (and luckily, if I think about it), that's the most damage I've ever incurred in a car I've been driving.

I got pretty mad the more and more I thought about the slap, but I shoveled that away as I went on with the filming. He was kicked out and I had to pick a car to race. Now, I know I'm being given crap for not knowing that the "Green Grenade" was a Camaro. I know it's a Camaro and, at the time, wasn't even thinking about what kind of car it was. I was trying to figure out, on a moment's notice, what car I was going to pick and what I was going to say for and against each of them. When Reep said, "the Camaro?", I honestly just thought it would be funny to play like I didn't know, implying that they all looked alike. Please keep in mind that many of us were playing up our characters for the show.

So, yeah, I picked the wrong damn car. I was kicking myself the moment it started. The owner of the Green Grenade told me after I picked it that he had over $200k in the car and asked me not to hit it. LOL. Well, little did I know, they had their fastest wheelman driving it, besides. They later told me it was the fastest car they had. If that's not true, it was certainly the fastest in that group. Brian was making no appreciable errors on the track that I could take advantage of. It's hard to beat a good driver that has a 250hp/350tq advantage.

Despite having the car setup for race tires (way too much camber and way too stiff because we were told 2 weeks before shooting about the min treadwear rating), I felt good that I had had the fastest time in the qualifying sessions. I could not hook up anywhere. Most painfully was the sweeper leading onto the back straight. I think some of the awd cars ultimately went faster, as it provided an advantage to putting the power down on street tires. Especially around that big sweeper.

I will say that I am now cool with all the million-dollar rednecks. I've talked with many of them and Yancy did apologize for the slap before the show aired. We will laugh about it over a beverage sometime.

Anyway, that's all I've got for now. I'll try continue to respond from here. Thanks for watching!

Cheers,

I put full blame on the BMW Driver. He never cleared the front of the Camaro. He is not clear of the front of the Camaro in the still photo. He did not have the inside line. This video reinforces my personally-held stereotype that the average BMW driver is a self-entitled douchebag.

"5 years of road-racing experience" doesn't count when your "5 years of road racing experience" is all track days. Your "track day" experience doesn't mean **** when the other person is trying to beat you to a pre-defined point. Diving to the apex of a corner when you haven't yet cleared the inside car is no different than swerving into another car down a straight when his front bumper is alongside your rear quarter.
