I think that the S14 is a very very pretty car. I've been slowly looking for my next car and it really looks lovely to me. I saw a great example of one on the 495 about a month ago with a fluttery BOV (probably a TIAL like mine :( ) but it was perfect. I know that people use them for doritoifto but I'm sure they must be somewhat track-worthy right?

944 gotta disagree with you about the muscle cars.
Barret Jackson pulls so much money and draw because of the nostalgia. Granted, the cars were in much lower production numbers, but you bet 40 years from now people will be looking for Mint Nissan S12's and paying a lot of money for one, possibly even for one with a CA18DET as it would have come in japan. Saying imports or current cars won't be part of our growing old and appreciating the older times is like saying we won't have our own "oldies" or "classic rock" station and all us "old fogies" (when we get there) are supposed to listen to is what our grandparents currently do.
In fact I bet part of our generations old car nostalgia and desires will be based off owning something good old internal combustion with some damn kick in the pants petrol.

I think the Sports car era is here and the Muscle car era is long gone. We might see it again. A sudden fascination with straight-line speed and gas mileage be damned. Right now? That's not a reality, although I'm sure a few of you, my dad and I included, would all like to see the muscle car age return. I would have personally loved to grow up in the 60's so I could be old enough to enjoy all the modern classics we see. Hell, I'd love to pick up a C3 Vette or Camaro SS for 5-10k lol.
But, I see what you mean, MX_Eva.

Last year I saw a bone stock 91 manual hatch with a huge gouge in the driver's side door go for $3700, granted it did have very little rust.
A friend of mine bought a clean (no rust), stock auto hatch for $2K this winter. There are good examples out there, but you'll probably only find them from middle aged owners who don't know of they're dorifto status.

Local 240 for sale. Very nice and a decent price.

I sold my KA-T s13 two years ago to fund my turbo miata project.
Turbo miata > turbo 240 (with the same amount of money invested)

Its my current daily beater(the paint isnt nearly as nice as it looks in that pic), but other than the paint shes pretty damn clean. Perfect interior. I picked her up for $950, and the only thing "riced out" about it was the "A" was flipped upside down. HONDA REPRESENT, YO!
I love my teg, so damn reliable.

Dude you make me feel like I spent a fortune!
I paid 2750 for mine, $100 under KBB. Bone stock, 1 family owned (all over 30), EVERY repair record. Paint is good except it has the beginning of the Honda cancer, and there are a **** load of tiny door dings, typical for a Chicago car.
Wish I paid $950.. That price around here gets you a pile of junk.
I am LOVING 32MPG, considering I went from a 00 Eclipse GT to this. It needs a tune up bad, should be 34+ after that.

I think the S13 and S14 are great looking cars. I seriously considered getting one before I got my miater. In fact, I think a big part of why I didn't was because I couldn't find one which wasn't a riced out piece of **** that didn't cost an arm and a dick. It's really sad to see SO many ragged out. I see at least 6 or 7 daily, all wanting to race. Where's their taste? Paint fading, primer, rust, body kits barely on, STUPID *** rims. I mean really? I'm all about doing your own work and tuning but why would you skimp out and half *** your own ****? So sad.

Dont worry about that, yours looks much cleaner. Mine has a decent sized dent in the drivers side front fender, and a bunch of dings. And the clear is peeling on the paint. It has 130k miles, and perfect interior, with ac/sunroof/power windows, but its not that pretty.
Mine gets 33mpg pretty easy. I keep its oil changed, and it has fresh plugs/wires/fuel fillter, etc.

Back before this drift ------ crap came around (like, in 2000) I bought TWO 240sx's for $500.00. There was easily 1.87 total cars between the two of them. Stripped the .87 complete one and parted it out on ebay then planned a swap on the second. Around 2002 I had a Chevy LQ9 6.0L 400hp V8 and T56 swap lined up then got laid off work. The project sat for years, then in early 2007 decided that I'd never touch the car again and I sold the car on ebay for $1800.
I'll have to see if there are any photos of the car that I still have, but not likely. 164,000 mile 1990 SE with OEM non-power sunroof, had been totaled 4 times, had the SE Lip that was broken, broken front bumper, both front fenders trash, hood was slightly messed up, and there were so many door dings in the side it almost looked like severe hail damage. Interior was beyond filthy, and the only way to get the cigarette smoke smell out would've been to firebomb the bastard. The rear hatch had one of those foam piece of **** wings mounted on it, which, leaked into the rear hatch and started to rust out the spare tire well. In the years I owned it never once did she start or even move under its own power.
Some tools drove all the way from Iowa to pick up the POS. Never in my life did I imagine that I'd make about $2000.00 off the car having NEVER even touched it. Yeah, he wanted to swap in an SR20 and drift it. Weaksauce.

You know, once all these 240s and AE86s are used up and too ragged out, I bet they'll start moving towards our cache of unmolested miatas. I'm seeing more and more tastefully modded miatas out there and that would be just enough motivation for your typical slack jawed ricer to hack one up.

I have noticed in the last year or so, Miata ricings seem to be going up. I am hearing about more kids selling their 240s for Miatas too.. And I swear to god the next mother ****** that walks up to my car and asks if I drift is getting back handed.

Mother of fu(k please no
Actually, a lot of car people have asked if mine was turbo'd. Probably because of the body kit and lowering springs. They asked even before my car was turbo'd. I've had a lot of wack *** conversations with people though including how the Miata was crap to turbo "cuz my friend has a greddy n he can't get it 2 run properly" or how if I run more than 6psi my motor will sexplode or how my car is only good for "stoplight racing" beacuse it's lightweight "and can get a jump on other cars". I don't top speed race too much because I don't want to die but I can slowly reel in M3s (e46) at 100mph so neener neener.
I'm actually thinking of getting a NA and gutting the hell out of it. I've pussied out on curves a little since turboing and also since i fed my car guardrail last year and a beater might be fun. I can get some ******** stickers for it.. A little appreciation for my NB wouldn't hurt considering it's depreciated much more than an RX8 and they're kinda weaksauce...
