yeah, I see what you're talking about, but that's pretty damn quick to reindex and still be accurate. If you were about to put a slug into your skinny buddy you would spend a little more time inside the trigger guard, and not lay down a quickie tap.
Besides, the whole thing seems very scripted.
I can see it being real, but my money is it's fake.
EDIT: btw, what about the lack of muzzle flash?

I just can't imagine going through the trouble to make the video. It does look scripted though. The wound and blood still sell me though. That (from what I can see on a grainy video) looks like a real wound and blood. And about the friend taking more time in the guard instead of a tap... look at what they are doing in the first place... Its pretty clear they aren't running on all of their brain cells and either drank or smoked them away.

I do some stupid stuff, but never have I been so bored that I have decided to put on a vest and let someone shoot me. I would never want to look down the barrel of a gun with our without a vest, or with any amount of protection for that matter.

My money is on it being real. I suspect the wound is not from the bullet penetrating the body armor, but from the intense interaction between the body armor, and the skin.
I once saw a video put out by Second Chance body armor, the owner of the company would shoot himself with a 44 magnum. before he did this, he would stick a thin phone book between the vest, and his skin. He stated the book prevented the vest from fusing to his skin.
KOTO, you have any idea where the video you posted was made? looks like FOB Diamondback

But that is a very round and clean wound for just a skin breaking from impact on the vest. I would imagine that would look much like a bruise from a paintball impact on the skin. But who knows, I am not a ballistics expert and have no idea, just guesses.

you can brake a leg and still run without any pain or even knowing you broke your leg. bullet had enough travel distance to become very very fast and penetrate the skin at just a bit lower speed (if vest failed, it wont slow down THAT much) and its also possible to be at that of an angle not to brake any bones and for bruises to appear in about 5 minutes after impact.
