Never been busted basically cz when I used go to the street races ,cops didn't give a ****. The cops would tell you to leave,so we'd go to the next spot, people would show up to hang out ,if someone had a fast car and/or some cash they'd pair up and race ; But that was before that stupid movie came out and most street races in LA turned into this free-for-all.

I have a super clean driving record. I don't drive the speed limit, I'm one of those people that are going to drive as fast or slow as they're comfortable driving. I don't drive crazy or anything.

Story time:

I got pulled over once for a expired tag in my dads truck. I didn't get a ticket because the police man let me go after he apologized for swearing at me . Can't give away my technique but its kinda like reverse psychology .

Once my friend ran from the cops when I was in the car. He got away by using a switch that turns all his lights off .

I had to run one night, I was racing this GTI (slow as hell) and 2 cops pull out of this shopping center that was basically empty, there were no lights on in the center and their lights weren't on either.

The 1st one goes after the gti and the gti pulls over, the 2nd one is clearly coming after me but since i was ahead i had time to decide to dip or pull over. Didn;t wanna get a ticket so i decided to dip down (sunnyside road howell nj 07731) I make it past the 1st two 90 degree turns then the 3rd, make a left into the developement and pulled into someones garage that was open. kill the lights, turn the car off and peak my head around the corner of the garage watch the cop fly by on sunnyside.

I waited about 10min and drove home all backroads through different towns to make sure i was incognito. The owner of the house shouldn't have left his garage door open at 1230am lol

not street racing, but since we're telling "running from the cops" stories

Long *** time ago, when I lived in Lubbock and was a stupid kid. In the back of a truck with about 4 buddies, drunk off our asses (all minors) and had just picked up a bag of bud.

I don't remember why the cop decided to turn around and give chase since I was loading up a bowl. I just remember looking out the back window, and seeing him turn around at the intersection we had just gone through to turn onto this road.

Survival instinct kicks in...I had no idea where we were...but quickly looked around and got a good grasp. I realized I knew the area, and told my buddy Jeff, driving, to jump the median and head into this industrial park. I had worked as a repair hand for a guy that turned around and sold cars in one of these warehouses nearby, and knew he usually kept 20 beaters out back.

I directed Jeff to that part of the park, and around the back of that warehouse, where we parked between a few of the cars, shut it off, and prayed we had lost him. We waited a while, then got out, peaked around, and smoked the bowl I had loaded for good measure...and drove home.

Karma caught up with me a few months later. I was following the same guy to a party in my 280Z. We hit a light together and decide we're gonna race. I smoke him, but when the cop on the far side of the intersection turns around and throws on the lights Jeff keeps his foot in it when I pull over. MOTHER ******...I'm the one with the pot in my car! Wasn't even my ****.

I'm trying to get rid of the ****...but it doesn't matter, I've got a warrant out for speeding tickets. Cop was nice, had a son my age, and said since I was going in anyhow, he would ignore the DUI and possession. First lucky break I'd had in a long time.

I was in jail for 4 days (lived across the state from family) and NONE of my buddies, even the ones that helped get me there, tried to bail me out. Really woke me up to how fucked up my lifestyle was. Screw that...I dropped drugs like the bad habit they were, moved back across the state to live with my uncle, got a real job, and worked my *** off until I had paid off all my debts and had enough money saved for two semesters of school. Never looked back.

I got a ticket driving my car home from BEGI in TX to my home in OR. I was overnighting in Boise ID. Hotel just off the freeway in an industrial area. I hadn't really gotten on it from a standstill yet and thought that 4 lane wide industrial park road looked good. All quiet at midnight, well lit, etc. I drive to the end, turn around and goose it through three gears. Street lights up like Christmas. Turns out it's a popular street racing spot and they had it staked out.

I don't get a ticket, I'm charged with a misdemeanor "excessive acceleration". Had to hire an attorney to handle the damn ticket. Spent $500 on the attorney, ended up only $75 for the ticket. Turns out it's a city ordinance and doesn't carry any points with it which was a good thing.

I got hit with "unnecessary acceleration" once, when I took off full throttle in my SHO from the rest of traffic. I went to court for it. I asked the cop at what rate of MPH/sec of acceleration is deemed unnecessary, at what rate i was accelerating, and how he could prove that the other cars around me weren't accelerating unusually slow. He got bamboozled and said "you just hit the gas to hard!" Judge found me not guilty.

I once got a "exhibition of speed/rackless driving" ticket for 'accelerating too hard. Thing was, the cop heard me accelerate out of my neighborhood. I went to court, pissed off but with a plan. I went in there armed with pictures, graphs, distance charts and performence specs released by Mazda and popular car magazines for a Miata. Cop said I "ran through 3 gears which is excessive acceleration". The thing was, the distance he said I did it in was like 750ft. Well, I really made that cop look retarded on the stand and ws found not guilty pretty quickly. I've only hired an attorney on 2 of the 30+ tickets I've had as a younger driver (record has been clean for 5 years now). I am well versed on what tickets count for what points and how to work around them. I sometimes really think I should be an attorney
