Rx7 something swap sounds very promising. I see one on cars.com actually
For $10k.
I am thinking i could get a built ls motor for around $10k
Driveline shiz for $10k
Turbo shiz and ems shiz for $10k
And run all of it. Full interior.
Thoughts?

I don't want to pay $50K to work on a car.
I've probably paid about that for my miata but at least I expected it to be a long bumpy road.
This I would want to be super solid. At least as solid as it could be on pump gas.

Oh and CTS-V is a nice option. I do like the look of the new coupe thing. But the massive depreciation offends me.
At least if I get a RX7 it will actually be worth more by the time I am done with it. Yes I will probably have someone else involved in the build the whole time to avoid my special type of wrenching.

Good luck getting a 4:1 power ratio in a car that's reliable.
And not a high displacement lightweight car.
Like... the Corvette and Viper you shot down.
With a CTS-V you're going to need 1,000 HP or more to get 4:1.
Your power expectations for a DD need to be changed, or your reliability, or your money... or get a lighter car. 750 hp can be done n/a with a stock block (just the block) LSx. Simple, light, less issues with points of failure, 4:1 power on a 3000 lb car.

Try again. http://www.golenengineservice.com/en...t-rod-turn-key
502 cu
810 hp
No turbe. Just an example.
Turbo would be easier and cheaper though.

How much is this thing? 800hp of nat asp sounds palatable.

From the big name LS builders, you're talking big $$$$$.
That's also a custom block, which is $$$ just itself.
Try this: http://hppmotorsports.com/main/index...&product_id=97
As the first 750 hp LSx I found with a price.

Uhhh
That is like the same price as a flyin miata built longblock stroker 2.0
Which would you choose for your car?

Note the longblock comes out to just over 14k, so don't get too excited... with IM, TB and other stuff included though...
But it'll make 750hp as opposed to the FM 200 hp. So, probably the LS. :P
Edit: Still 1k cheaper than a fully built FM shortblock though. LOL @ FM.
Edit2: Longblock for longblock... almost the exact same price. Wow.
