Default What super spiffy thing should I ride for $30-$50K???

I just got a new ballar job

Pluis I think I mma take in a new roommate for $450/month taxfree yo.

I am considering rewarding myself with a super spiffy ride.

Criteria:

- Can be BUILT not bought. Got that? 30-50K total budget

- SEXY I want to get a full on stiffy each time I walk up to it. AND sit down in it. No vipers.
- fast. Needs to be at least as fast as my turbo miata. That means 4:1 weight to power ratio or better.
- dailyable. This can really be accomplished by some squishy clutch and a bigass muffler. And a 93 octane tune.
- maintainable. I like cheap maintenance. not something that will cost $10,000 a year in maintainence. i already have one of those. :|

What would you drive?

FD RX7 with 500+ cu v8.

FFR Daytona with 500+ cu V8.

The latter would be incredibly sexy. The former would be sexy and more dailyable.

Motor: LS based, of course. Sub out big displacement for turbo/super if you want.

This sounds good. But recall above 700+ hp criteria. Would need build LS. Plus turbie.

I have a feeling this is another "maybe I'll buy a $50,000 BMW" thread, but he ends up buying another Miata.

With the diesel...someone else built it.

Or a SBC swab old Mercedes or E36 sedan.

I agree with Hustler. Or C63 amg sedan. I'm sure you could put an over priced pod filter or exhaust on it. Then you've "built it".

Hmm that diesel sounds pretty neat. But... slow

I already bought the second miata guys. Do not need more of that.

I am glad I did not buy the bimmer. For that much money I could reallly get something much much cooler. Hence this thread.

I like Nagase's RX7 idea.

Am also thinking about a NSX with a swap.

the "man" can't even pull a transmission from a Miata and you want him to get his grimy little hands on a Lamborghini?

If you're serious about the budget, buy a 997-style Porsche 911 Carrera ('05 - '08) and turbocharge it. 500+ HP is achievable on that engine with pump gas.

Just be aware that to do bodywork on a 911, you need to use Bosch brand sawzall blades.

502 cu

810 hp

No turbe. Just an example.

Turbo would be easier and cheaper though.

Sawzall offer you a big signing bonus?

But seriously, if I had the money.....

Buy a kit and stuff a coyote 5.0l in it.
