Seems legit to me. He's selling an exhaust manifold with a $9.99 starting price, and charging a reasonable amount for shipping given that it's large, somewhat heavy, and will require considerable labor and materials to pack properly.
His feedback is 93.9% positive. One guy (Apr '08) complained about a used car after he'd had it for a month, another (May '09) complained about a mirror having a scratch and a broken cap (both of which are visible in the pictures of the item that were part of the listing) and apart from that, he's got six negatives, all from a guy in Germany who bought several items that were listed as USA Only and then complained about the cost of shipping.
In all honestly, I don't see anything fishy here.

I guess I don't see anything REALLY wrong with it with the exception that in the text he says he starts all items at $.99 with no reserve and this is at $9.99.
Yes shipping is excessive. He wants $75 shipped for it. Is it worth it? To me, no but to someone who doesn't know any better, it's a bargain compared to the dealer. The only reason for the high shipping is if you want to return it he only has to refund $9.99. It's an Ebay ploy to maximize sales dollars and is kind of a shitty thing to do but isn't really a scam. Would you have thought it was a better deal at $29.99 with a $45.00 shipping charge?
I guess I have gotten so jaded that I just ignore ads like this and move on. Even if it was a decent deal I'd have a hard time bidding with that feedback.

Boxing **** up and driving it to the post office is the reason I hardly ever sell **** on eBay. Especially if it's something like an exhaust manifold, you have to really go out of your way to package it in such a way that it won't perforate the box, get crushed, etc.
Reminds me of when I bought my torsen diff. I scored it cheap from a junkyard some distance away, based primarily on the fact that they didn't know what they had. (The listing said that the car in question was a burgandy '95 with a M/T. What a Miata expect knows that a junkyard owner doesn't is that said car is an M-edition, and therefore has a Torsen).
Anyway, the diff came to me in a cardboard box. Needless to say, the box was crushed beyond recognition and one of the wings was broken off the housing. I found another housing from an open diff locally, so all was made well.
By contrast, when I sold the VLSD that came out, I fabricated a wooden shipping crate for it, to which the differential was quite securely bolted both at the wings and the input flange. That damn crate took two hours to put together, and frankly, annoyed the **** out of me the whole time I was building it. The price I charged the purchaser for shipping reflected the time I spent crating it.

I have boxed and shipped 4 Miata diffs, 6 bumpers, 2 fenders, 2 convertible top assemblies, and hundreds of other parts over the years with ZERO issues. But yet I never charged more than actual shipping costs. To each his own I suppose!

I don't mind if it's in reason and the total amount I pay is the total value of the product plus typical shipping charges. But I also don't feel sorry for anyone who buys the product without looking at what the seller is charging for shipping.
