Default How to make fire?

Maybe a stupid question but I gata ask.

A few of the guys I run with(wrx & srt-4) get flames out the exhaust.
How can I make my miata do this without hurtin anything?
I just want a little PUFF of fire when I down shift.

I'm already running rich; does it have something to do with exhaust diameter?
I know about using a spark plug but I don’t want to do that.

the rear window sprayer in the jeep is broken off so when you hit the washer it sprays straight back.

It's nice for tailgaiters but I want to figure out how I can put lighter fluid or gasoline in the reserve and some sort of lighter rig.

start running greater than 10:1 AFR. VTA your BOV. that shoudl do it. but most likely will dump a lot of black smoke as well.

Finally a reason to have 2 maps in your emanage

BTW, I have a really simple rig on my 70 olds with a 455. A momentary switch and relay remove the ignition coil and send signal to two coils (one clamped to each frame rail) under the car. Each of those coils has a wire running to a plug welded into the pipes. I'll give it a quick rev to 3.5k rpm, let off, then hit the switch. Usually good for ~6 ft of flame out of each pipe. Very cool at the cruise ins... I would not suggest anyone try it in the miata b/c you will probably foul your o2 and kill your cat. I'll look around, I have pics somewhere...
