The wonderful folks at the body shop had my car just as dirty on the inside because they left the damn windows open. I was pissed that they didn't use the tarps that were balled up on my car to cover it. Part of the reason why I pulled it from there.

Now me and the mad scientist got to go in a clean everything out. And paint it because two months wasn't long enough for these guys either.

This picture reminds me that I forgot the fender liner at that shop. I have to go get it now. I wonder if they will ask me why I did a 30 ft burnout outside as I left.

Maybe I'm its harshest critic, but it's far from perfect man. So much sandblasting on the front end, the dash is cracked under that stupid generic cover, missing interior trim, etc. Better than a lot of cars but maybe not that good.

I'm more surprised the green car looks as good as it does, with as many adventures as it's seen.

This cracked me up. All I can think of is presentable by whose standards yours or your wife's.

Which reminds me, I should go clean and charge my buddies 240 before he gets back for mid-leave tour.

I'm pretty good with keeping my cars clean aside from fighting against my wife's "car cleanliness indifference" in our LegGT, BUT when I had my 86 MR2, my girlfriend and I caused a small stain in the Pax seat with a quickie throwdown and I was never able to fully get it cleaned with interior cleaner and a brush. I sold the car with a dollar sized stain in the pax seat.

Wonder if the next owner knew what the stain was?

For some of us it's just a matter of limited time.

I don't let our vehicles get dirty, don't get me wrong...I HATE dirty interiors. But fixing things isn't always priority, and I've been guilty of finally getting a vehicle back to spec before a sale. I've always considered it more of a courtesy however...like "yes, I put up with this rickety problem that I never had time to fix, but you won't have to."

I keep a list, in order of importance for the house, and all vehicles of what needs to be done. 7 lists...two day weekend (if that)...one man. I can surely stay on top of the regular maintenance, but maybe one or two "special" projects gets done each weekend.

You could say I have too many projects for my time, but when I have too few I can tell, and seek out something to fill that gap.

It keeps me moving.

I dont keep mine clean because I work on cars all day, and I detail on the side. At the end of the day im exhausted and I dont want to see a car. it doesnt get cluttered, just dirty.

Back before I had this job and I worked less hours and I didnt work on cars my Z71 stayed spotless. i had a calendar for detailing. Every Saturday it got washed, every other saturday it got waxed and every piece of chrome got polished, once every two months it got a full detail, paint correction if needed, claybar, some zaino, etc etc etc.
Wednesday was vacuum day and interior, every two months pull the seats and shampoo the entire carpet.

Mondays was repair day, if nothing was wrong I would pull certain parts, dissassemble and clean them.
Undercarriaged was powerwashed and painted or touched up about every month.

I cant explain to you how cleant he truck was. It was cleaner than any truck on a new car lot today.

I finally sold it at like 200K miles and I took it up to carmax to see what they would fgive me and as me and the guy walked out to it he Goes man that thing must have low miles for a 96, I told him 200K and he goes your shitting me. So they pulled it in an inspected it and the gentleman told me they could give me 3500 I politely declined and he told me he would personally give me 5K.

It was spotless I just dont have the ambition to do it anymore after the camaro has been keyed and ran into so many times. Seems like everytime it gets out of the bodyshop it gets hit.

Goes back in in January, for a full repaint, jams, bottom of the hood, EVERYTHING, plus a few custom touches and Im sure it will get ran into in february
