Just seein' what's up?
Hey Homey's,
It's been awhile since I dropped anybody a line, or really shown my face around here. I can say though, I've been a proud supporter of this site for over 14 years.
What's been new fella's? I'm gonna shout out to SixShooter...thanks for not changing your avatar. Who else is still here? Joe Perez I see. Braineack? How bout Lars? So many names, so many memories, Miata dyno meet up's...great times.
I still have my car, still have the K20Z1 sitting on the engine stand...still have the swap parts sitting in the box they shipped in probably 5 years ago (maybe more).
What am I up to this year? House ****. Miata stuff? Maybe. I want to part some more out and maybe at least order my subframe. Miata life for me moves very slow...(priorities). I'm at the age now where my kid goes, "Dad, when are you gonna get that Miata together and drive it again?" That's how I know Time is Ticking Away,
Please comment on this thread and share your guys situations! I'd love to hear about stuff...I want to keep myself alive in the Miata Turbo world!
Thanks,
-Thirdgen (Todd)

Wow. I don’t remember typing that response AT All! I put a lot of alcohol away back then. I think FaeFlora and I shared a brain for a few years… I do think that build might’ve inspired my cast manifold boring to external wastegate flange setup I had…
Good times!

Yo Todd, funny timing for this post because until recently I have been a multi-year hiatus as well. Just bought back my old red 95 a few month ago, and am in the process of re-turboing it this winter. This time just going slightly bigger.

I'm still here. Finally made 300hp right after it became the next 200hp, so, no change.
Forums are dead, metabook took over, which sucks cause I hate their organization and searching capabilities.
I work on a **** ton of Miatas, and I've swapped in 2 K24A2s. Hated both due to vibrations, no heat, no carpet, and they were both 3" straight pipes. I'm only ever driving them in cold wet conditions, since we're trying to get them ready for track season, so not a great comparison. Kpower did just released a new subframe with new rubber motor mounts, I have high hopes. I'm finishing my third K-swap connected to a Racing Beat exhaust, retained heat and carpet, so hopefully more livable. I also have extensive experience with the V8r subframe, and unless someone's got a gun to my head, I'd keep the stock subframe given the choice.
Personally, I'd do a Z3, stock subframe, easy to turbo with this: https://kpower.industries/collection...turbo-manifold
Then to me, a K swap is actually worth it. Not worth it naturally aspirated unless you're tracking it exclusively IMO.
Anyways, welcome back.

Hey dude, hope you get that K running! My car still runs, and I've been tracking it. It's still ugly as sin with bad paint, maybe even a bit uglier right now after contacting a tire wall at the track. But I also have a garage now so maybe it will be pretty soon.

I'm still alive, the miata is usually buried under patio cushions in the winter and beach stuff in the summer. I drove it once this past summer (it still scares the crap out of me) and it needs wheel bearings now. I have zero motivation to do it.
