I think that's the one I got. I shopped around a little, based on the one you recommended a page or two back.

Not to mention he never has more than one hand on the wheel. Look for the one where he goes to STS Turbo and spends an hour sucking the owner's dick.

The four-legged variety.

Believe it or not, our spot down here has dried up.

My buddies and I are looking for new opportunities. We aren't afraid to travel and we're plenty respectful of the land.

Is Pelican the easy button (quality/cost) for a decent sized gun case for checking through TSA?

Figure room for an AR, a smaller .22 rifle and a slew of handguns/magazines.

I would think so. I use a small Pelican case when traveling with a handgun and I've never had any issues.

Do be sure to check the rules regarding trigger locks, keys, etc. You don't want to miss your flight because of something silly.

Agreed on not missing my flight. Thats the reason I'm working on planning this a month before I have to go.

I think I'm going to plan a case that can do AR/Shotgun and pistols, that way if I ever do play with the 3gun stuff I can travel to events with all my gear.

I did this homework awhile back.

I bought 2 small Pelican cases, an 1120 and an 1170. The 1170 will take a full size and compact pistol with magazines. The 1120, is much thicker, but not as long/wide, could take 2 pistols at different depths, but I bought it for ammo boxes, and thicker seemed better.

Your luck with airlines are only as good as the information present in the brain of the person who tries to check you in, or their immediate boss, if that person happens to actually be there, or can get there in time for you to make your flight.

I chose to make it as painless as possible for everybody. I take 2 cases, one for the guns, the other for ammo/magazines. Any weapon will have a trigger lock on it, and I will use as many locks as the case will allow... in the case of the small cases, one KEY and one COMBINATION lock.

For rifles, I just couldn't justify $250 for the Pelican I really wanted, or the other choices for a really nice sealed case with all the sweet locks and heavy-duty construction. Pelican and SKB are the 2 main players I think. I just looked and their Storm 3300 would hold an AR and regular .22, but mags and pistols would be a tight fit.

I cheaped out and I bought a standard Flambeau double. It's one step up from the super cheap and thin plastic ones, but still nothing to brag about. It's flown 5 times with zero issues. If you cheap out, make sure the case you buy has room for 4 locks, and that there are lock holes all the way out on the corners of the latch side. The TSA website is very specific that the case should not be able to be easily opened... and if the only lock holes on your case are near the handle... the ends of the case will pry open easily.

My Flambeau will hold an AR (upper/lower separated), a 12ga shotgun (barrel/stock separated), and a standard .22 bolt gun. It is DAMNED TIGHT and there is no room for anything else in there.

Also, some Pelican cases don't come with foam, so be sure if you order online that it specifically says it comes with foam.

Dave, I hope you're planning on flying down to hog hunt with me. Sam, you should come too.

I think it would be pretty awesome if we had an MTnet shoot. I know I'd bring some fun toys.

Bit of talking with buddies who do more traveling (including thoughts here) and ordered up a Storm IM3300 w/foam a moment ago. Should allow me to get AR/shotty/pistol in there. Magazines/ammo will go in a separate smaller one, or be shipped ahead of me.

Should set me up for upcoming trip and for future ones

Working on acquiring something in .308 over the next few months. Depending on how that goes, I hear South Missouri has a nice population of hog...
