they did a driver swap, and we though the same thing, but then we noticed they added a little gas, so they were forced to hang out in the pits. I dont think they thought that one though; because they were rushing it, then we watched them sit at the exit. lols

we were 28 seconds behind Ronald at the end. We were hoping to stay ahead after our last pit, but didn't time it right ourselves; not that we had much choice.
SRI has 4 teams racing in chump car(SRI 1,2 & 3, and some other team with a different name. The SRI "pit chief" accepted an award for the 4th team. SRI 3 didn't start, but were registered.) . I HIGHLY doubt they didn't know what they were doing.

My instinct tells me they were trying to get one on the ChumpCar pit guys. Especially with doing a driver change in the last 15 minutes.

It's possible.

We saw the driver RUN over to his pit area in a mad dash to get to the car in time. I figured they fucked up their timing and had someone in the car too long. Dunno, whatever the case, they failboated.

How did your light setup work out there and what were you running? We were using some LEDs on all 4 posts but found the scatter too great to see down the track. We now run those LEDs on the apex and have a set of spot style HID lights for the forward pair.

I saw that even RacingStrong was complaining about their light setup so maybe it was the ambient conditions and no one could see...

this is a shot from last year:

three rigid industries LED light panels. no complaints about light; just an initial aiming issue with the middle one. The side ones could stand to be turned inward a bit.

Wow those are nice, pricey, but nice
Are you running a combo in the middle and two floods on the apex?

Red Miata with the blue roof panel, #97. We had Rain-X on the outside and anti-fog ok the inside. Tried anti-fog on the outside but it may have been too late.

Simon's TCV is legit. The SW20 MR2 with the Camry swap and huge fuckoff wing on the other hand...

I don't doubt that for a minute, nor am I questioning it. I just find it curious that the Simon's guys find that the rear and side windows are worth the $30+ in TCV, while it seems most chumps don't think it worthwhile.

Clearly the Simon Says guys are doing some things right!

I'm genuinely just curious how many sq/ft of plastic they needed to make their windows.

The SW20's aero was definitely working for it. The height off the spray coming of the rear was much higher than anyone else going into turn 1. Our only driver to compete his night stint was complaining that he couldn't see anything with them behind him because of their lights. Apparently their wing it's homemade as well. Looking at the who's who of sponsors on the side of big name MR2 tuners, I'd believe it

There are many cars that continue to push the envelope as the series experiences speed creep. Not saying they aren't well run teams like the SW20 is. A certain turbo civic we have here in the midwest comes to mind, blows e30/36's right out of the water and has a TCV under $500...

That MR2 was the subject of some hot debate since they did the V6 Camry swap ($50 swap, btw) and they based their AIV or whatever using their VIN # which was an automatic equipped car... so they had -$75 and got a manual swap for free.

That loophole was fixed fairly quickly.
