This is unfortunate. Jeff's car is down until probably spring of next year and the predictive lap for that car on a crap tune was 1:57.xx going CCW.
It'll have to wait til next year....

NOLA registration is open. Supposedly we'll be the first to drive that track.

What is everyone doing for hotels? I probably won't have a tow vehicle by then, but I will have an awesome head.

Ryan and I are talking about going out there, no definite plans yet though we have some ideas. If I take the trailer I will probably just sleep at the track. However a hotel within walking distance to the French Quarter could be a good idea for Saturday night festivities.

It won't look good after NYE pricing. I mean, we're racing Miatas, not Porsches.

I got an inexpensive room at a Days Inn once on Canal Street. I walked two blocks and I was in the quarter. That was a while ago however. A quick look at a travel site shows that is no longer the case.

Hmm good idea. You get three or four splitting a taxi and it will not cost much. And, no DWI.

If I make it out to NOLA I will be camping at the track. I will be sleeping in either a tent or my tow vehicle. I can not afford to be getting a hotel room near down town over New Years. Hell between the event and Christmas I prob won't even be able to afford drinks down town.

that's what we do too. although a room is nice when it's split enough ways to cost $20!!!! we'll be spending the night at the track on thurs. and fri., though. depends whats available on sat. because of drinking and driving.

I'm down to split a room with you gays. I wouldn't mind getting sloppy on the tree streets, you won't catch me anywhere near Canal St.

I'm probably camping unless we can snag a $20-30 room.

It is about 16 miles (25 minutes) from NOLA to Cafe Du Monde (in the Quarter, by the river).

Poking around briefly on the travel sites, it looks like there is nothing for say under $150 a night that is within walking distance to the quarter. For about $80 a night there are hotels within 5 miles (cab ride).

We need a large vehicle and a designated driver. You know... I wonder if we all pitched in how much a shuttle would be? Gives me an idea...

OK see my post here, #8
