Talking Save the Boobies

The Lehigh Valley Miata Owners Club (LVMOC) held its annual Drive to Survive to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. We raised $10,000, bringing our total to $45,000 to date.

Olderguy, let me know and I'll delete this. Don't want to crap on your thread. Just a quicky vent.

What's with all the teet cancer fundraisers? For once I'd like to see an event like this for guys. Testicular cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer or one of the other miriad diseases out there. Nut and butt cancer get shoved under the rug while threatened funbags rake in the money. I guess it's true. We really are fixated!

Yeah, but "save the boobies" shirts get me a lot more action than "preserve the prostate" shirts.

Good for you and your club for doing this. Yes, Breast cancer gets the exposure, but any eventual cure benefits all.

I beat Colon cancer last year and thought I should make a shirt that says "save the ********". My one year checkup is a week from Tuesday and I fully intend to remain cancer free.

Scuba,

I'll be sending all the positive karma I can your way next week. Hope it goes perfectly.

For your t-shirt, I made this for you!

LOL!

Funny as this is, your statement is true - there are many so-called "orphan cancers" that don't get the attention of research funds but are just as deadly.

My cousin is 38 and has sarcoma in her lower abdomen. So far she had four rounds of chemo and four surgeries. Damn thing keeps coming back. She also happens to be extremely fit, has plenty of money, and gets treated at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. All proof that cancer doesn't care who you are.
