I wonder if they will have the rifle and pistol range shut down for the Miata event? Maybe we could organize a shoot

Pretty damn good views from the ridgeline camping

I can't guarantee it'll still be this green in September

They could break the world record for most Miata's/cars on a track at one time. Talking to some of the Texas crew now, looks like we might show up for the track day this year. I think I know how we can stand out in the group photo. My Dad wants to bring his car Paging Emilio, is there going to be a SuperMiata race? Need to know so we can have the right tires...

There is usually kind of a Club Roadster one that forms already. So why not? The actual track guys get there much earlier so a bit easier to form groups.

Is there a max DB for this event too? I don't want to install a massive muffler.

Last year I think it was 108db, taken from the outside of turn 5.

It's 102db.

Taken from a post of Keith's over at M.net.

"One note: we have confirmation that we have the same high sound levels as in the past. 102 dB."

Put a 90° fitting on your tailpipe and point it to the drivers left, away from the sound booth.

There was a fairly big change in the instruction last year. They used to be volunteers, but we weren't getting the quality we were hoping for.

I watched some *** in a minivan drive over 2 peoples track-bags and just roll out. Unless you were heading for the area near the garages, the left hand turn into the paddock after the track exit was a friggin' mess. That may have had something to do with the CR contingent taking up space next to the wall, but it was still a huge pain and there was no traffic control. Ask them if its possible for them to get something set up like the Cherries Jubilee guys do. PLENTY of space in that configuration.
I'm one of the three main organizers. So yes, I've got a pretty good "in". There were some changes to the paddock layout for 2012, and I suspect we'll need to do more for 2014 if Mazda wants some play room. Still, the large open parking area will likely remain fairly open. I saw that minivan move as well, and I don't think there's anything that we could have done to prevent that particular piece of idiocy.

The track doesn't do the paddock layout, so "they" can't necessarily do what the Cherry Jubilee guys do. If you can point to a map or something I can look at, we'll take it into consideration.

I don't think we've had a Miata trip the sound meters yet.

I gotta make this event. I have never driven Laguna but have always wanted to. The normal sound limit of 92db is what has kept me away. I can work with 102db though. It would be great to be on track with other high power Miatas.

I hadn't realized that, I'll see if I can get a copy. Thanks Keith!

I'm going to start a new thread about this event so the info can be centralized. There have been a lot of changes since it was first announced.
