[rant on] what did I learn this weekend? I'll tell you. if you have hoosier money(every vette in TT, blue evo, dickface in silver wrx, ken, sixace :P), you don't have to drive a good line or even be a good driver, the tires will magically give you 5 seconds.

Jeff's 99 is a 1:57.xx car and ********* in white 300zx's, wrx, and evo's wanna block and not pay attention when i'm clearly faster which doesn't allow proper gridding. Why couldn't saturday be like sunday!? I payed $200 for approximately 20 laps. That's $10 a lap!!!! [rant off]

i did have fun working out of the rig and hanging with all of the cool TXMC and NASA guys. I should have video up shortly.

That would be Paul (pgporto on TJ). His pics are better than the "pro" ones.

LOL at the results. How is Jeff's car TTD? Even better is the TTD vette turning 1:56's. Awesome!

Looking fwd to the T-8 fluid exchange spin vid.

i haven't seen the results, but I saw TTD on the paper at the track. WTF? I don't understand that. TTD is probably the class my black car would be in.
I'm looking through the videos right now.

i heard that, preach on brotha john! i had to start pitting out after the warm up lap so i wouldn't get stuck behind that wrx. he almost hit me in the carousel when he ran wide and i tucked up against the curbing, thankfully i didn't trust him (i spoke to him at msr-c, his first TT) and slowly crept forward because he didn't see me even though i was in his the whole time, and he proceeded to cut me off. i had to climb the curb to keep from getting hit! I was gridded IN FRONT of the wrx on sunday and built a 1/4mi. lead after 2 laps! and the 300zx blew by josh and i on the frt. straight on sat. morning, only to drop anchor in t1, t2... well the rest of the turns. thankfully, after they started gridding by lap time, he was out of the picture the rest of the weekend.

btw, there was alot more clear track on sunday, but there was a 20-25mph headwind down the frt. straight also. more than double the wind on sat. most everybody was 1-2 seconds slower because of it.

be posting the results tomorrow and hopefully some video of my own.

Thanks for the nice plug sixace! I didn't realize you were running in DE3 instead of TT, otherwise I would've gotten shots of you too. Next time.

It was nice to put names (or at least call signs and cars) to faces this weekend. I unfortunately didn't get to participate as much in the TxMC Sat since electrical problems were killing my car. Special thanks to Stubbs (not sure if he's here) for popping my CAS connector pins - that eventually allowed me to salvage the weekend and run problem free Sun. See ya guys again at the next one, H2R?

Ha! Dad just walked by when I was watching the Vette video... He asked if that was the Yellow group. Told him was some of the TT guys and he said "A few of them need to get some ride alongs again." LOL HP and stickies can only mask so much...

I want to get a set of 275 A6 Hoosiers soooooooooo bad. The car would be sick with them. 3 more seconds (assuming I could get them, not too far fetched) would have put me in third place in TTS, with only two Porsche GT3 cars in front of me, and one behind me. Hell I know I left a second on the track with the tires I had.

Couldashouldawoulda. For now I need to STFU and drive.

Nice pictures Paul! Thanks!

glad it got fixed. went through that over the last 3 events last year.
you've heard it before, but i'll say it again, your pics were awesome! thanks for taking them. yes, h2r is next on june 18th. it's gonna be a great time. make sure to sign up early as possible so that no miata gets left out. all cars are welcome, but i'd hate for it to sell out and there are miata's left out. sign up on clubregistration.com and it's open to solo'd drivers (de2/blue group) and up.

Dan over the whole weekend how did you like the 275 A6s on your car? Were they as mindblowing as everyone says they are?

Cheater tires for sure. Put the stickers on for last DE3 session. Did out lap, and then the two fastest laps I've ever run at TWS. Would have gone faster as I was just getting ready to push it when I ran out of gas and had to limp in.

Way too expensive (unless you can win them, which I cannot). I got them mostly for ax, but will pull them out for a session at TxMC just to ***** everyone off.

Duh. That's why it's called Unlimited. Spooling can ban 'em next year for all I care. But then what's next, ban the LS?

The whole system has it's warts, but it is what it is. I've heard concerns regarding the overdog MX-5/NC in street class, and the supercharger in Mod. It's supposed to be fun, but some folks take it too seriously then it's not fun.

Watching the Cali series, seems like Unlimited has dropped to just 2-3 entries, likely due to the arms race you mention.

Some of us don't have all the years of track experience driving and instructing. If we want to go fast (that's the point) and hoho's get me there, then cool. My driving style and lines may suck, but I'm always cognizant of that and am trying to get better. Spent time this weekend with instructors at the whiteboard, analyzed fast guys videos and data.

The 2:00 SM guys take vastly different lines from the 1:50 TT/ST lines. Why is that? Are the TT/ST guys a bunch of hacks with shitty lines? I really dont know? (Yeah, I do know the difference between a race line and a qualifying line.)

To save the ineveitable, yep, I know the bandaid stickys just mask my errors, and ultimatley doom me to being a shitty driver for the rest of my life. But I really don't give two *****. Besides, perhaps others will get faster chasing me? Or, it kills the whole thing as entries drop off because of the arms race issue.

You ran what, 2:02 on factory installed tires with your 302? If you were serious about TT, you obviously need hoosiers. With your experience and good lines/style, you could easily win a complete set per weekend, and thus have ZERO tire expense. Seems like a no brainer to me? Run fresh tires every weekend, win, profit, bang bitches, gargle w/4LoCo, rinse and repeat.

Stop tempting me. Hoosier are worth 5 sec at TWS over a sticky street tire like starspecs or rs3. I could have used that time

i have video of that ******* running you into the curbing because i was right behind you when it happened. He blocked me for 3 laps. I watched the video last night and he finally let me by as the session ended. i was pissed.
Both wrxasshole and 300zxdouchelick need to be in DE3.
