That was my favorite part. Since I hadn't read Stein's build thread, I wasn't entirely sure it wasn't him until that part. After that I was sure it wasn't.

"I'll just blow on this gasoline to put it out, just like my birthday cake!"

Guys, it's not me. Just a random dude trying to blow out an engine fire.

Bahahaha!

So many types of fail. This can be a learning experience, so let's list them.

1. No fire extinguisher in garage.
2. Unsecured and leaking fuel line and he still tries to crank it.
3. Drawing fuel from a jug.
4. Jug up high so siphon effect possible.
5. Wideopen exhaust port spits fire in his face and yet he still cranks without adding manifolds.
6. Keeps cranking after fire is everywhere.
7. Keeps cranking more after fire is everywhere. Did he think the non-existent fan was going to blow it out?
8. Tries to blow out gasoline fire with his mouth.
9. Tries harder to blow out gasoline fire with his mouth.
10. Tries to stamp out fire on floor while gasoline still dripping.
11. Doesn't cover gas can to extinguish fire inside.
12. Slings gasoline from can everywhere in shop.
13. Slings gasoline from can on self.
14. Slings gasoline from can inside car.
15. Doesn't bring enough hose to reach.
16. Sprays water on a gas fire.
17. Sprays water inside carburetor instead of just closing choke.

Anyone notice the huge spark when cranking at :15? He ALMOST hesitated and thought about what he was trying to do here but the need to see it run after all that work was too much to resist.

I haven't watched the video, but in that GIF it almost looks like he blew so hard that he caused himself to start to pass out.

Edit: Stein, I'm just glad you are okay and didn't damage the Saab or Chevy pickup!

Reminder to all of us: make sure you have one...maybe two fire extinguishers handy at any time.

This dude got super lucky - it could have been oh so much worse.

Oh, and watch the vid. Running out of the garage with a flaming gas can is worth the watch.

Stein,

I have your address. I just called the Fire Department and they're on their way to help you.
Hope you're ok.

Take care

If that ever happened my Miata would be for sale for $4K, my Tiger for $4K and the SAAB for $1,000 because that's what I have invested in them, as far as my wife knows.
