Hey I'm clayton I live in pleasant grove utah. just bought myself a 91. Had to trade in my subie so my wife could get an SUV to fit our three kids in. I just barely got the miata running and passed safety and emissions. Now I instantly want to turbo! Plans are for a cast manifold, custom down pipe, t3/t4 turbo internal wastegate and run wastegate pressure, rising rate fmu, and an msd ignition retard box. Now questions I haven't found a solid yes or no answer for. With this set up do I need an intrcooler to run 5psi? And do I really need a wideband since there is no real tuning? Thanks and sorry if I haven't found those answers yet by searching on here!

I would run a inter-cooler for sure, the air would be compressed but warmer then just staying NA. As far as the Wide-band, that's more of a tuning aspect just to know whats going on. I would suggest you get one just for peace of mind, to know whats going on. The last thing you want to do is go too lean and blow it all up.

So as of right now I have a t3/t4 chinacharger, 1.8 tan top injectors, cast manifold, msd retard box, 8:1 fmu. Waiting on funds to get inter cooler, charge piping, and downpipe tubing to start fabbing that up.
Just a little update. Anyone in the utah county area want to let me look at their setup?
