I guess some more info about my car would be nice. It's currently got 222k on the completely stock short nose 1.6, so it's super tired and awfully slow. Currently I'm in the process of putting in a built 1.6 (wiseco pistons, Manley rods, stock head) with a gt2871r, artech manifold and dp and run on ms3x. I'm hoping to make around 280 to the wheels but for me anything more than the power I'm at right now would be incredible.

It's a 1.6 because it's what I had planned on doing and was already in the process of rebuilding. It wasn't going to be a full build, but plans change and I got a better job and stuff and was able to afford to do way more stuff than I had originally planned.
I know everyone's gonna dog on me for choosing a 1.6, but it's what I wanted and it'll make plenty enough power for what I need.

You are using some quality parts for your build. Good luck!

Haha cams was the other guy, I would have made a joke except this is the meet-n-greet section so I'll play nice.
I would recommend that you either: #1 swap the built motor in with the stock ECU or #2 configure and tune the MS with the stock engine before the swap. You want to make sure everything is good for the break-in process.

This guy is claiming 241 to the wheels on his stock 1.6 https://www.miataturbo.net/miata-par...ust-etc-79672/. He seems to be getting a little antsy, so maybe he'd sell you that blinged out exhaust. I am curious as to what you end up making on that thing.
