MLEV's emerald mica '99
Hey all, new to the miata turbo world, not super new to the miata world..
I bought black 97 a little while back, loved it a lot, but the more I got to know about the vehicle, the more I learned that while it was at on of fun, it was a bit too rusted out to ever become a competitive vehicle.
Looks nice, but the under body is in pretty bad shape. This car is now my "winter beater" (love teh hoonage) and pretty much a week after I got it paid off in full, I bought a fully prepped STR '99 Miata in Emerald Mica.
Here they both are together. Had to put my "storage wheels" on the NA to put the 6ULs on the NB. The NB came with a set of C1Ms with nearly brand new Toyo Proxes R1Rs, but I liked the look of the 6ULs a lot more..
My GF with my NA at her first AutoX
Me racing the NB
GF racing the NB
NB with current wheels and projector retrofit.. Turned out one of the 6ULs had a crack in it and was leaking--the crack made me nervous, would hate to have a wheel bust on the freeway--that would probably be "the end". I switched back to the C1Ms and sold the 6ULs to someone who thougth he could repair them.
NB with 6ULs.. man I miss those wheels.
Anyways, here's the current lowdown:
99 Base in Emerald Mica
Racing Beat intake
Racing Beat header
Racing Beat front sway bar and end links
Flyin' Miata exhaust/midpipe/highflow cat
Hard Dog Hardcore Hard Bar with double diagonal (a bit too heavy for my liking, but the car came with it.. ready to track!)
Custom shortened and re-valved bilstein shocks with ~450 front and ~320 rear springs
OBX "ground control" type coilover kit
Future Plans:
First MS DIYPnP
FM "no electronics" turbo kit
EXEDY stage 1 clutch kit
Possibly Fidanza LWFW? Haven't decided on this one yet...
Weeeeeeeeeeeee
