Default Noob from Scotland

Hello and a very Happy New Year to all on the forum..
I'm a serial MX5 owner from Glasgow and currently have a 1990 Eunos,1993 Eunos 1.8 hillclimb car,1997 Eunos B2 Ltd,2001 MX5 Sport and a 1998 Lotus Elise.
I have previously owned a supercharged NB but never a turbo....I plan to remedy this!
I'm in the process of collecting parts to turbo my 1997 Eunos. So far I have a Begi cast manifold with inconel hardware,FM cast elbow and down pipe,a GT2560R turbo,MSPNP2 and a selection of engines, heads, inlets, transmissions and diffs.
Plan is for a track reliable 250 bhp motor with decent spool and power delivery.
I look forward to mining the wealth of knowledge available from the forum and hopefully being able to contribute something worthwhile in return....I also like cats a great deal.
Cheers,
Cardo

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have a good understanding of what is ahead of you. You should do well here.

Welcome! Sounds like a quality pile of parts with which to start your build. Good luck, plenty of help here if you get stumped.

Any vids of your hillclimb car in action?

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I don't carry a camera in the car so no recent footage, but here's an old, extremely poor quality video from Doune hillclimb that I shot on a borrowed bullet cam..
And a slightly better quality video from one of the other drivers..
Cars all run to fairly tight regs so engines are pretty much standard which keeps the racing tight and low cost, more details of the class can be found here if anyone is interested
Scottish MX5 Hillclimb & Sprint Register
Couple of stills of the hillclimber..

I'll add some more pictures of the project car in the gallery as I go.

Cheers,

Cardo

Dang! That's a path for an ox cart! Absolutely no runoff room. It looks like great fun, though.

Man, I wish we had hillclimbs like that here in Colorado. Plenty of narrow, winding roads to accommodate something like that. Looks like a blast.
