Default New to MT

Hello, my name is Dan, im a long time Miata enthusiast but new to MT. I picked up my 2nd miata about 8 months ago at a great deal. It had a blown headgasket and had sat for a few years but picked up a rust free 95m with 61k miles, BBS' s and a hardtop for a little over 1k.(interior and exterior are in very rough shape but fixable).

since then, I replaced the headgasket with a full head refresh, timing belt, WP and belts. I've put about 1500 miles since and noticed it was burning oil like crazy. After many attempts with solvents/cleaners to hopefully unstick the piston rings, I came across a short block for $40 and tore it down for some new internals. Got it bored to 84mm, new forged pistons, rods, ARP studs, oil pump, bearings, seals, headgasket, FM Happy meal clutch/flywheel kit, polished the crank and pre tapped oil pan for my future plans.

Which brings me to my next point, I plan on going FI, im picking up a Brain-built MS3 and will be learning to tune while N/A while I gather turbo parts. Looking at going with a DIY route with some of the components from FM, Begi and other vendors. It will take me a little while as I plan on doing some body, suspension and brake upgrades prior to installing the turbo. My plans are for a reliable 225-250hp. I've done a bunch of research on how to get there but im sure ill have questions, I dont have any tuning experience. Ill start with the MS3 and wideband and work on injectors and the rest of the fuel system next.

Well, thats all for now. Appreciate everyone help and look forward to spending more time on here.
