Default DIYAutoTune.com Welcomes Ben to the Tech Support/R&D team!

Your own 'Ben' (aka Ben91) has joined up with the team and will be helping us out with tech support/sales/R&D/bathroom cleaning/etc. He's shown for a long while now that he's willing and capable to help people here and on other forums, and comes in with an excellent knowledge of our products which will allow him to hit the floor running.

This gives us three tech guys on this team, we'll continue to offer the best support in the biz and each of the guys will have more time than before for product development and documentation. Top of the list is documenting more of the existing DIYPNP applications, and oh, what's this on my desk? A 01+ Miata connector? Hmm....

Welcome to the team Ben!

Congrats Ben! Lars has been trying to get me to come down to the MS Meet this year, maybe this will entice me more.

O/T: Jerry, I have a pretty successful 1.6L MSII 2.1.1b msq if you need it.

Does this mean that soon we might be able to buy a setup just like Ben in his 99 10AE has for our cars? All assembled and ready to go with a basemap?

You know, when I saw on facebook that you'd hired another guy, I thought to myself about whether it was Ben..

Congrats to both parties, DIYat gains an experienced tech and Ben gains a job worthy of his considerable knowledge. If it wasn't for the three of you, I wouldn't be 'squirted or tuned.

Now I won't feel so bad while asking him all of my diypnp questions.

When is the MegaMeet this year. I will try to make it if my car isn't in pieces.

Not sure yet on the MegaMeet, I need to follow up with B&G as they were discussing moving it up north a bit this year to reach some customers that haven't made the trip down here. PA is the rumor. Not sure yet though.

Saw that Jim, good work there for sure. It's on our short list for new DIYPNP models. Problem is we're coming up with new DIYPNP kits faster than we can document the applications for what is out there. Ben and Russ will both we working on the app guides, and Matt will keep cranking out new models.

Ben and Russ are about to MegaSquirt a whole BUNCH of cars . As fast as we can get them in, installed, tuned, and out of here.

Thank you everybody, and thank you Jerry for the opportunity. We do have a lot of cool things churning around, and I'm excited to help work on new applications and further develop existing applications. You miata guys should remain to be happy campers.
And we're going to hit some other applications too.

Marc,
My setup is literally hobbled together with a DIYPNP plus some other stuff I had laying around. While my concept is working, my feelings are that the DIYPNP standalone was a much more elegant solution.

If you'd like to copy what I've done, I've posted my schematics in my build thread. Hardest part is just building the patch harness.

I'm not very good with electronics assembly... Wiring and Tuning I do enjoy. I have my MS1 setup working, but it would be good to have a PNP version instead.

Got ya. There is a DIYPNP available for your car, which would be MS2 based, and runs off the car's stock triggers. The MS1 system is great, but I'll bet that you'll enjoy MS2 more due to its increased power--especially if you go with sequential injection. You do assemble the kit yourself, but we have an installation walk through and a basemap, so it's really not too bad.
