Why not just run the MBC? or perhaps the MBC with the EBC running just as an on-off switch to help spool? Tune the MBC to your desired boost level, and then set the EBC to 100 until you're at like 8psi or something, and then just put it to zero?

let me show you how my 7psi wastegate handles boost:

this is wastegate, no boost control. If I set the MBC to see 8psi, I'll make 12 at redline. If i set the MBC to make 12psi at 3500rpm, I'll make 16 at redline.

What I need is MS-II and open loop boost control.

What you need is an EWG... don't you want closed loop boost control? I know I want closed loop boost control.

yeah thats the one... rofl.

i dunno what my deal is but everything seemed okay this afternoon, its possible its all good. It's pretty much hitting 12psi, and slowly hitting 13psi at redline. i can handle that, keeps the torque up.

Beat the FX35 that lined up against me today yeah you read that right.

update: Dunno what the issue was last week. So far the boost have been consistent throughout the weekend regardless of ambient temps. Pretty happy customer.

Resurrecting the thread!

I am currently looking for options to make the MBC and EBC work together...

I learned a lot by reading this thread, so I was wondering if you guys who tried it, are feeling better with the setup? Figured out a better way?
Spool comparison before and after?

I don't have the MS, but rather the LINK, and I have been having issues with the setup. When I get steady boost, the spool is terrible... If I get it to spool quick, then the overboost is very difficult to control...

The turbo stock WG is set at 5psi, and I am looking to make 18psi, apparently the big difference between the stock WG psi and my target is what is making the setup difficult to control...

I have a big turbo for the car, and according the the logs, I need to have WG% at around 80% closed to make the boost I want.

Also my car is a 1993, so I don't have TPS control... the way the LINK does it is that it will make full boost only when WOT, in part throttle, it will only reach WG psi...

Thanks for the input!

I think some of the info in this thread is quite old. Some people have gotten Closed Loop EBC to work now which tuned properly eliminates most of the problems with MBC and open loop EBC.
