quick question on timming setting?

quick question on timming setting?
i see that in the set up sticky you show how to sinc timing threw spark setting....... i just thought it would be better to set the offset at zero and play with the cam angle so the ecu would now have to compute anything... just a thought let me know if im doing this wrong or it another way to sinc the timing......

just a 12 crack that cam sensor loose make sure trigger offset are a 0 and -10 for timing values. go to the dashboard read you btdc advance and adjust the cam sensor till that light matches the btdc advance on the main dash. i just thought it would be better for the MS not compute anything less work for him lol. anyways this post was to make sure i was not doing it wrong thank for the answer

Guess i shouldn't be brash like that. You can mess with turning the CAS one degree at a time and home it's ***** on. Or you can mess with the keyboard. It takes about 3 tries to set the correct trigger angle when doing it with the laptop and not turning the CAS.
Either way, you want a trigger angle above 50. Most of us end up with something around 70 plus or minus 10 at the most. Happy Holidays

if you have the timing value(fixed angle) set to -10 MS uses the timing table. the gauge on the dashboard in megatune doesn't show your timing, it shows what it thinks your timing is. if you don't set the timing correctly to begin with it will not be correct.
you need to set the fixed angle to 10(not -10), then adjust the CAS(or Trigger angle setting) till you see 10 with the timing light.
after you are done set the fixed angle back to -10 so that is uses the timing table, you don't want to drive around with exactly 10 degrees of timing.

whatmiata-- What your saying could theoretically work, but there's no benefit really. The ECU is still doing the same computation, just on a basis of 0 instead of 50. The math is still done. And it's a computer, computing is what it does so that's OK . Check out this video if you haven't gotten a chance yet--
