Default Megasquirt 1 No spark after "Joesparkmod"

Hi guys.
I have a 1990 Jap Roadster, megasquirt 1 v2.2, LC-1 wideband sensor, T3/T4 turbo, and BMW TPS. I had the car running on the old spark mod, but only with the spark inverted = yes.
This caused the ignitor module to get too hot to touch and burn out, so I did the Joe spark mod and fit a new ignitor module, now I have no spark. I've ordered another ignitor module just in case, and I recently fitted a new coil pack.
I've trawled through the other posts in this section and found one that related to my problem, but his was sorted with swapping Spark inverted = No.

Can anyone shine a light on this for me?
Cheers

Did you change to inverted=yes after the mod?

So it's worked opposite of how everyone else's has worked?

We usually go from No to Yes with this mod, but you're saying you've gone from Yes to Yes after a mod?

Definitely something fishy. Post pictures of the two sides of the board.

Yep, would only work with inverted=yes when I had done the old mod, and now with the improved mod it wont spark.
I'll get a picture and upload it after work when I get home.
I had the help of an Mx5Nutz forum member (MrSlow) when I started out with the megasquirt.

Just thought I'd post this while I remember to -

I have the 2N3904' wired as
Earth to Q9
Base to "-" side of D17
Collector to 1/4w resistor connected to pre R23 (1/4w resistor then goes to X12)

The other is wired the same but on Q11, D19 and R27 (1/4w resistor then goes to X11)

Okay, sorry for the delay in posting the pics. I've had no internet over the weekend.
Here are the pics of the top and bottom of the board.

Went back to the old spark mod and I have spark again with inverted = No, it just wont catch and idle (had it running as Inverted = yes previously).
So confused......not anymore, it's a timing/trigger angle issue now.
