Hey guys, just looking for some support for an issue i am having.

Earlier today i went to load Hi Res firmware onto my 90-93 MSPNP 1, up until today i was running MSNS Extra 029 just whatever was in the 90-93 without afm folder. Worked great but wanted to try the hi res.

I had the ECU in car for the firmware load, did not use the boot jumper for the first attempt and said N for if i was going from standard. What happened was it seemed to almost complete the load as it got above 1700 lines, but then all of a sudden it said that it failed and my injectors started making a clicking sound. Fuel pump would not power on each time i put key to ON and just the injectors would click. I tried to reload the firmware and it would just immediately fail and says download failed expected response '' Boot>'', but recieved this '' '',.

So then after some reading on this forum i went to try and reload firmware with boot jumper installed and i also said Y for if going from standard, Seemed to work but could not get it to connect with laptop after firmware install. Also when i put it to key ON fuel pump would constantly stay on where as before it would just come on for a couple second then stop.

Up until this point the injectors don't make the clicking sound anymore. The fuel pump still stays on whole time when key is turned to ON. Also now it has a very loud clicking noise from something under the steering column.

Any help would greatly be appreciated,

Can loading firmware damage the main relay or any other components?

I know about the ignitor/coil pack and had those unplugged.

Also i will add that when i try to detect ecu/firmware in tuner studio during new project config, it does detect something from the correct com port but it shows up as just squares and no words in the description.

Bit of an update.

The clicking sound near steering column is the circuit opening relay (yellow), with it connnected it clicks very loud and the fuel pump is constantly on when i put key to ON.

If i disconnect the COP relay, the fuel pump does not come on when i put key to ON. But my injectors are clicking, will they be injecting fuel when they do this?

In addition to having the COP realy unplugged, if i also remove the main relay (inj relay) in engine bay fuse box and put key to ON then nothing clicks but my rad fan comes on.

Anybody have any idea as to what is going on?

Try loading the firmware again, and if you get an error message, post a screen shot.
